that is correct, a felt strip needs to be put there so it doesnt scratch the tint, however, the rubber strip is so tight against the window (to minimize exterior sound) its hard to get a felt strip in there...

Ron Ron Ron,
How is the wind noise now?
The Felt stuck well to mine. I think he was lazy.....or he was using the wrong flet.
This is what you need. It will stick just fine and not be too thick.

I would put the felt (moleskin) on yourself before you go to the tint people. JMO

meathead and flnsx-Not painful and no problems. No wind noise, after all, it is on the inside and the outside one is the one which would give wind noise if it leaked. I think the original soft plastic rub strip on the inside was to catch the little bit of water that might drip into the door if you opened it in the rain, and the felt will also do that.
This is the third car I have tinted with this place, and he is very good. I also figured if it didn't work it would be a simple matter to replace the cut-off trim piece with a new one, but I kind of knew I wouldn't have to do that.

Had mine tinted with LLumar 3 weeks ago without the felt and I do have one SLIGHT scratch on the driver's window. However, it is not very visible unless you know where to look for it. I preferred to take my chances without the felt because I didn't want the door panel taken apart. Whether or not you get the felt, make sure you let the tint "cure" for at least 72 hours before lowering a window. BTW, scratch resistent doesn't mean it is scratch-proof, just less susceptible to it perhaps than other brands.
