Safety Questions (Curtain Airbags)

I am in the process of wiring my Radar Detector. I brought the wire up through that rubber molding in front of the A pillar, and then crossed the A pillar into the headliner BEHIND the farbic tube that I assume houses the curtain airbag. Will this impede the operation of the airbag at all or since the wire is behind it will it be alright? Thanks a ton.

You should pull the pillar cover off and run it on the inside of it. However, I think you should cross it over before the aluminum bracket that houses the charge that deploys the airbag. The pillar cover comes off easily, just gently pry out the "side curtain airbag" square plastic and fabric covered lock and pop the pillar cover off, there will ba a snap connector near the middle of the cover. Then you can easily run the wire while avoiding the airbag completely. You have to pull down the rubber weather strip, but it is easily put back in place. Only pull it down far enough to to remover the pillar cover and run the wire.
