We'll see Honda is NOTORIOUS for keeping new models under a tight lid.

I got a question about the RL, and what class it is in. Would it be in the same class as the M45, GS430, 5 Series, A6, E-Class etc. Or is it considered to be in the rankings of the LS430, 7 Series, S Class, Q45, A8, etc???

I think both. Acura tries to have cars compete in a class, but be priced in a class below. For example, the TSX is meant to go against a 3 series, but it's priced in the upper-level family sedan category. The TL is meant to go against the 530i, but it is priced like a 3, and the RL is meant to go against the LS, 7, S, but is priced like a 5, GS, or E.

none of the above. maybe with the next RL it will be in the league of the 5's and E's and GS's. it is far from going agaisnt the likes of the S, 7, A8 etc.... its not large enough and doesnt have nearly the performance.

Man, Id really love to see HOnda come out with the first Hybrid that has no performance compromise. I'm not a greenie by any stretch, but 40 mpg sounds good to me. Almost half the friggin car payment saved in GAS.

But you're right, could just be smoke and mirrors. We'll see.

I'm told the new RL's will approach $50k so they'll be less common on the road than the new TL's.

I will buy it if 05RL gives me the same sensational experiences as my 94 Legend did ten years ago. Plus, I hope it will still be made in Japan. Let's see.

It's almost 50K for 2004. If it will have AWD and V8 $50K barrier will be easily broken.

When the RL DOES come out, we will look back and laugh.

Think back to 6 months before the TL came out - the rumors were just amazing - right up to the final day!

You could say the new RL will be nuclear powered and use anti-gravity technology and be as right as anyone at this time. The US Government should use Honda to keep it's secrets!

So you've already driven, measured, seen, and pushed the totally new RL that will be introduced in 6 months? Please tell us more. Does i look good even though it "is not large enough and doesn't have nearly the performance"? :wow:

Hybrid

I'm not sure I'm in the market for the RL, but if Acura makes a hybrid MDX to compete with the forthcoming RX Hybrid, I'm buying it. I really want an SUV (or rugged wagon for that matter) with better than crappy gas mileage. Oh yeah, and I don't want any Ford.

Can't wait to see the new RL. It is by far the weakest car of the of the acura fleet.
