Love both colors to death and am thinking about either with the Ebony interior.

For those of you who have these two colors, how bad do the front paint chips show up?

I just waxed my pearl white RX300 and the paint chips in the front show up black. It was hard to distinguish them from road tar.

I have the AM and the chips are not terribly noticable, but I see them - probably because I'm a pain in the ass when it comes to little things on my car....

 

I have the RRP and have no chips in over 9000 miles of driving. Of course, I don't tailgate other vehicles, especially gravel trucks.

 

I have the rock chip protectant on my car, and its been great so far, hardly even ever notice it




there is a lil dirt, but that helps show the line a lil better actually

On one hand there are a ton of anthracites on the road, on the other that is because anthracite RULES. Dont get anthracite cause thats what we are getting.

 

I have RRP, got it in December, no paint chips yet. Looks great with the Camel interior, and you don't see many RRP's, lots of Anthricite.

 

I sure agree with you there. Did your dealer fix your audio system? I thought you had a minor issue with the tape drive.

 

You are at the same decision point I was at the start of the year. I went with Anthracite because I liked how the paint looks like sparkling greyish-brown in bright sunlight, but then takes on a cool steel grey in the late afternoon. It also is similar in color to some nice looking BMW 5 and 7 series.

Paint chips barely show up as slightly lighter indentations and are only visible when scrutinizing the car during a wash or wax.

I ultimately stopped considering RRP because it reminds me too much of 'rental car red.' I didn't think is was too cool to look like I was driving a rented Buick from Alamo!!! (not that there's anything wrong with that)

 

Hi Repecat! Well, still working with the Dealer on that one! It is an intermittent issue, I hate it when that happens! That means it is difficult to reproduce and of course it never happens when you have it at the dealer. The tape deck has not done the "speed up-chipmunk" routine again, they did clean it and check it out without removing it from the dash, (thank God, I was worried about rattels and the like.) Overall I LOVE my TL. Also I did pick up the Telarc 1812 Audio DVD, the Cannons really are awesome in it. My husband almost had a heart attack the first time he heard it! You do have to be very carefull with the volume. Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a GREAT Memorial Day weekend!
