Royal Purple Synchromax for manual gearbox???
I want to change oil in my manual gear box - I was thinking about Royal Purple Synchromax. As a previous 540i/6 owner I know it makes shifts smoother, but I've read that most people here put some GM stuff.
Any opinions/experiences?
Also, how many quarts do I need?

I'm not a MT owner, but try hitting up acura first as they have a new fluid that has been redesigned. It should be free. If that change doesn't help, go with the GM synchromesh modified MTF, it works well for all the owners, esp. with the 3rd gear popping issue and some reports of a notchy shifter.

I've had RP in my tranny for 30k.
It worked pretty good. There were no issues at all until recently. Starting to feel some wear in the tranny/clutch operation. I have over 61k on the car with the original system. I'm going to switch to the GM stuff today. Atleast the RP lasted for close to 30k. My .
