Have fun! I drove from Raleigh, NC to Kansas City this past summer for the National Acurazine Meet. It's gorgeous out there.

haha, yea...my family lives in Missouri. The Thanksgiving trip to my dads in ATL was nice cause it was just the lady and I. Now, with the TL packed with us 2 and the dogs...yea that sucked! the car rode fantasitc, the MPGs where good(averaged 27) and the bun warmers really helped out a lot!!! it was 19 degrees when we woke up sometimes, but the cargo space is just not what I thought. I am in no rush, but the TL will be traded in for a SUV. did not realize how small the car really is. I love it to death, but being in the military and traveling as much as I do, I most def need something bigger. For you RDX guys, how you liking them? would love to get a MDX, but the newer body style is not in my price range yet. Looking at a RDX, Ridgeline, or Edge...but like i said, no rush.
oh yea, and i rolled over 20k since i got her in March of 2011. just over 68300 now.

My first 3G TL ('04 NBP 6MT) and I went from Charleston, SC to San Francisco, CA and back. I did it the first time in 3 days (that drive sucks...). The second time I did it (from SF to CHS), I had to move my apartment, so all of the seats except the driver seat were filled from floor to ceiling (i had my driver's side mirror as my mirror ONLY, lol).
Glad you had a safe trip/holidays, enjoy!

yea, i got this thing from petsmart that they call a pet hammock. it has straps that go around the front headrests and the rear head rests. if you kinda overlap the straps on the front parts, it can act as a barricade to keep them from coming up to the front while you are driving. it was well worth the 50 bucks...now if i could figure a way for them to not rub their noses and slobber all over the windows...ha

I love the RDX. The only problem is that while it's considered a SUV, it almost looks too small. If you're going to get a SUV to have more space, get something TOO BIG, just incase you end up needing the room. I would much rather have too much than not enough

The hair is a problem too. The dog owners don't notice the hair or the smell but I've detailed enough cars for dog owners that the smell hits the instant you open the doors (and sometimes before if they have a particularly smelly breed) and the hair can be a nightmare to get out, especially with cloth interiors.
However, I look at dog owner's vehicles as job security.
