Rick Case Acura Dealer
I bought my 2005 TL with 35,000 miles 2 months ago and it had a single crack. That 1 crack turned into 5 very large cracks and rattles. I took my car to my local Acura dealer and they refuse to replace the dash under "good will". They quote me over $2,000 for the job.
I than made contact with Acura-USA and they refused to help. I pledged my cases that I have owned 5 other Honda (have DMV proof )and finally stepped up to Honda luxery and was very dissappointed with the Acura quality (crack dash). Acura-USA told me to take it to an Acura Dealer for a tech to exam the crack. Having herd good things about Rick Case Acura in Ft. Lauderdale, I drove a long distance for them to write a report regarding my dash. 24-hours after my visit with Rick Case Acura, they called me to inform me they will cover the dash under "good will" with NO CHARGE!!!!
With such great customer service from this dealer, I just want others to know and bring them business as that dealership has taken care of me and I know they will take care of you.

Nice to know you got it replaced for free.
I'm sure the "long drive" costed less than $2000 for gas =)

Nice to see a happy ending but why did you buy it in the first place with the crack?

When I purchase the car, it also had a platium 7-year extended warranty that I and seller thought would act as extending the bumper to bumper warranty. At 13K for a clean title, 35,000 miles, 6-speed manual, Nav, and garage stored was a no brainer to purchase. I didnt know what the warranty covered until I went into the 1st Acura dealer and pointed out the fine print... No cosmetic parts

both honda and some dealers are great to work with! As I have said before, if you show yourself as a loyal customer, honda will take care of you! Spending 5 dollars extra on an oil-change is worth a huge company taking care of you!

Having dmv proof of multi car brand loyalty made your case, and the manager at dealer going to bat for you in a big way- willing to take the loss on labor and parts by accepting the warranty pay rate corp gives them, and no profit on the part
Make sure to send the service dept manager a hand written thank you letter- they post happy comments on the wall in the office like its treasure!
one to corp expressing gratitude at their final decision wont hurt either, with a mention of their action will keep your family and friends brand loyal as a result-- will make them smile
Why hand written???- because its easy to dictate a letter to your secretary, but taking the few minutes to hand write something makes a far more personal impact
always have to read the fine print~ contracts are rarely what they seem by the title
