Review of Weathertech Mats
Okay, I just got my Weathertech mats in the mail. I'm not impressed.
The mats themselves are very heavy, feel nice, and have some nice, deep grooves in them to hold the water. Unfortunately, the grooves are not where I put my feet. I would expect there to be a groove under the gas pedal, but nope. Instead, they cut away a portion of the mat to make it fit the gas pedal. Now, not only are there no groves where my right foot goes, but there are NO RIDGES on that side either (since they cut them away).
In short, if you are expecting to buy these mats sized to fit the TL, you won't get what you expect. They are just generic mats sized to fit some other car, and cut out a little to fit the TL.
The back seat mats are basically "cut your own" type of mats. Easy to do, but why not just order OEM mats?

thanks for the review, at one point ... I did consider buying them... but wasn't sure if they'll be cut out to be as nice. However, I did purchase the RAIN-GUARD from them..and it works wonders! it not only fits perfectly...it's so easy to install... I did it at 11:45pm at night in a cold 17 degrees weather in 10 minutes.
it's only $98 for all four peices, DO NOT BUY from Acura dealership as they sell it at $235

Thanks for the review. I've been looking for some nice mats but will wait on.
Weathertech also carries a cargo liner for the TL but if it's generic I would not be interested. The dealer cargo liner has a rigid plasticy feel to it rather than a soft rubber feel.

I originally bought Weathertech but the rubber is so soft that my heel wore through in a matter of a year or so. I was in Walmart and saw mats that were within 1/2 inch of the same size as Weathertech - and best of all - they cost only $8.98 for a set.
Weathertechs are okay but, for what you get, they are vastly overpriced. Make a trip to Walmart on the weekend and save yourself $75 on a front/back set. By the way, the Walmart set are substantially more durable - no holes in these. I guess they understand durability better in China.

My problem with the mats is that they do hold water, but it has to go somewhere. In my experience the water just went under the mat. I had this problem with my CL last winter, and underneath the mats was soaked for quite a while, even after I removed the mats. I didn't get them for my TL as a result.

235? I guess it depends on how well you know your dealer.

I spent $20 at Walmart for a nice set of 4 heavyweight mats. They are a tan color and match well with my parch interior. They've done a great job during this snowy winter. Save yourself the money and don't buy the Acura mats.

Weathertech...
I've owned a couple of sets of them that I've had in other cars. I used to like them, but have decided they aren't all they're cracked up to be.
I can't say anything about the black rubber mats, but the grey and tan ones I can.
The problem with Weathertechs is that they start out looking nice but over time they tend to harden and stain, getting to a point where they can no longer be cleaned effectively and end up looking like total crap- developing a white haze.
I've also had a set of the Weathertech black carpeted mats. They tend to hold up better, but the black carpet started to fade and take on a green tinge to it.
When I got the TL, I bought the accessory rubber mats for it and can say that they definitely hold up much better than Weathertechs and clean up much better too. Price wise they can be had for nearly the same price as Weathertech and they fit perfectly.
