rev limiter

I just found out that when the car is in park the revs are limited to 5k. I tried to rev past but it just would not go. Initially I wanted to find out if the check engine light would flash even tho the engine was not under load. Oh well

smart move by acura. just put it in neutral if you want to check. just don't accidently drop it into gear though.

The rev limiter issue, is this true for both the auto and manual?

True...but it does have neutral.

The RSX, while in neutral, can't be rev'ed above 5,000 rpm...just wondering if the same was true for the TL?

You have to be careful with the MT6. The manual says that the rev limiter will not save you if you accidentally drop it into 2nd instead of 4th.

Adam,

Remember, don't drive your 330ci to that meeting on that day...

Fresno? I could be there in few hours. Ride on 99 is not very fun (poor road conditions, slow trucks, left lane squatters and CHiPs). But, would be fun to see other TLers and admire the mods on other TLs to get some ideas.

If there is a line of TL going down doing 100+, which TL would the CHiP pull over?

None, too cool of site.

Let's not test this water.

yeah I heard on news that gov. is thinking about making 99 toll road... wtf? reason is to make the 99 better with the money collected. I dont know about maybe just around fresno or the whole 99.... but it was in news few days ago.

It's funny how a thread starts and turns into something completely off subject. So, let me continue.

I think it would suck since they're the ones who screwed up by putting I5 away from the major towns in the central valley. Now, they want to turn the crappy 99 into a toll road just because it naturally became the major artery? Maybe they ought to fix the road first! Leave it to bureacrats.

For the meet, I think the background scenery is a plus so maybe a golf course or the ocean or ? PCH 1 would make a great background. Just a thought.

anyway the revlimiter doesn't stop at 5k in on the auto in neutral when the car is moving. I didn't try from a stop. By the way thanks for the thread jacking

Same difference...

Hey, the reason why I'm holding this meet in San Jose is because I live there! I'm going to call this a 3rd Genners meet even though all TL'ers are welcome. Set up a meet in your city and if it's less then a hour or so away, I may show. My meet is just I decided to put together.

With all others posted meets, there is so much confusion on where to have it, when to have it, and so on. SO if I put on a meet (I plan events for a living) the guess work is taken care of, plus if only one person shows up, we will still have a good time.

I would like to see: Rets, Lore, Daikon38, Kcoberge, Mrtech and Ryder 1650 all show if you can. Details to follow.
