Replacing starter continue
A little more info. on my question: I have an 05 automatic TL, the started went out on me and have been looking around. There are different brands out there (lots at RockAuto): some remanufactured and some new - is it worth buying a new one vs a remanuf.? One brand people can trust or stay away from. I got a parts number from the dealer as 06312RKB515RM. Lots of questions, but I want to do this right. Any info. appreciated.

doesnt matter....I would buy refurbished and not an off brand kind..most refurbished ones are OEM units with new guts inside.
I'm in Sugar Land, if you need help.
I have a refurbished unit and it works great!!
*edit* looked up what I bought and I bought a Beck Arnley starter from rockauto. it did change the sound of startup, but thats no big deal.
refurbish units work great, Beck Arnley works great! wouldnt use a chinese brand...but american brands and refurbished units work great!!
let me know if you need help installing, I wouldnt mind helping you

Thanks justnspace. Question: my local Autozone has Duralast refurb. starters from $99 to $150. Is Duralast a good brand for starters? What about Bosh or Vulcraft (again sold and available at Autozone)

Denso from rockauto, the battery tray can be a PITA to remove but it's a straightforward DIY
