Removing Door Marks?
Ok, well I've had my TL for a year now, and, I've been lucky enough to avoid any dings till this point (which really is a miracle living in NJ). However, the ding fairy finally struck the other day.
I have 3 lovely vertical scrapes on the passenger side door, obviously from someone slamming their door into mine. Paint is gone, and they are pretty gouged, so it's not something i could just 'buff' out.
Any idea how I could fix this?

If the scrapes are down to the metal, I doubt you will be able to do a good-quality repair yourself unless they are very small. If they are fairly large, professional body and fender shops do an amazingly good job of painting small areas and making the repair blend in.
Problem, it's gonna cost you some bucks. No way around it. Comprehensive won't cover it and I doubt it will be more than your deductable. (To say nothing of the higher rates you would pay for the crime of filing a claim.)

sorry to hear about the dents.....thats why i park far far away if i go anywhere or i use my "handicap placard" =)) comes in handy man...
but if the paint wasn't gone i would have told you to goto one of those paintless dent removal places
but since you said paint is gone...you might wanna try the touch up if your good at it? they have those new ones i saw that is like a pen other than the old brush up ones which sometimes you get huge chunks on the brush....these new ones are like those "white out" pens which i guess is a little more accurate....i saw this other touch up "blob remover" at the dealership the other day as well
other than touch up...is going to a good body shop and see what they can do....
good luck!!!!!!

thanks for the tips guys, I guess I'll head over to the local body shop and see what they think. Probably not worth it though, I suppose I'll just have to live with it. It's just frustrating how careless people are around here.
And trust me, I try to park far away from everyone, but around here...parking lots are generally full.
Maybe I'll take a picture later.
