Remove front seat 3G Garage #F-067
Does anyone have a good set of instructions on how to remove a front seat (drivers specifically). My wife lost her diamond earring down between the seat and console.
Thanks

Here's the scans from the service manual.

How can I remove the front passenger seat cushion to clean the foam? My kid got sick and some of it went through the tiny holes into the seat. Needless to say the car doesn't smell that great....esp when the heater is on. I'd like to take the seat bottom apart and clean the foam or replace it myself. Is this possible and are there some diagrams like these?

There are 5 pages in the service manual and I haven't scanned them yet because of the complexity of removing the seats and the leather seat covers.
There are dozens of circular clips to be removed, and then replacing them with new ones. You will need special upholstery ring pliers to do this.
It would be best to take it to a good auto upholstery shop and let them do the job, but if you think you want to tackle it yourself I probably can find the ambition to scan these pages.

I spoke with the local acura dealer... $240 to get a new cushion and $350 for leather. I figure a cleaning or new cushion would do the trick.
For now, I just used some frabreeze on the seat and then a leather conditioner. Hopefully, that will take care of it? If not I'll order a cushion and pull it all apart. Somewhat sounds fun, I'm a do it yourselfer. Where can i get a service manual? Is yours like what I'd find in an auto parts store?
Thanks! This site has been really informative... I have been reading about the 3rd gear problems... the dealer switched out the oil but it still grinds from time to time.

If you don't have the right equipment nor even you do. YOu will damage both the seat or seatcover. YOu need some pracitce on this stuff. Again this things need alot practices. you end up paying too much if you mess it up.
But if you're gonna urself, becareful every step you do. Take your time. I say 6hrs you can finish it. Again, becarefullllllll.......GOod luck dude...

Having removed several seats from cars in the past to clean underneath and such... its really easy bro, all it is, is 4 bolts that hold the chair to the floor, once you loosen those just tilt the seat back and unclip the connection for the electrics so you dont damage the plug by pulling on it... then just revmove the seat.
Its really not that hard , theres nothing to damage. Usually a 14mm bolt.

With all due respect, you are totally uninformed about removing our seats.
It takes 2 minutes to loosen 4 bolts on each seat. unlatch a electrical plug then remove the seat.

Ron you are 100 percent correct about the seat rings when taking apart the material from the frame of the seat,
I took my seat apart, and if you use a needle nose plyer and care, you can bend them to take the seat apart, then reuse them and bend them back to hold the seat, I think they are unexpensive, but hey it saves a trip and a few bucks.

I believe he is talking to gatachaman about removing the cushion and involving all the ring clips, rather than the OP.

I need a new seat cusion, springs are coming up and poking my ass. Can you buy just the cushion and install it when taking the seat in and out? Will it still have the heated seat option? Thanks for the info ,everyone!
