Redline Type F is amazing

Is this a good fluid I can run for the life of my car? Meaning is this oil good to use 24/7 365? Or is this a fluid you add when you tranny starts to go down hill? Also the 1x3 things do you mean you do 3 drain and fills and by the end all the tranny fluid should be redline? P.s. My car has 18k on a 08 base.

HondaCrx2,
Redline is fine for 24/7 use.
Read the 2 threads Inaccurate provided and it should answer all your questions. Also pay attention to the pressure switches portion.

Hey Guys,
I'm about 60K miles on my 07 TL-S.
I'm planning to have tranny fluid change, Redline Racing ATF, per IHC's post.
I was wondering how many quarts do I need for every flush?
And what about the pressure switch? Do I need to replace them?
If so, where can I buy those? How many do I need?
Thanks!

<----- is placing his order for Redline Racing Type F.....right now. I have changed my sensors and had my dealer do a flush of new Z1 a couple months back. Time for the 3x3 this weekend, along with a new tranny filter, toe bolts, and a new oil drain plug.
FYI parts numbers, incase you need one, are
Oil Plug - 90009 PY3-000
Tranny Filter ( external) - 25450-RAY-003
Toe Bolts (alignment) - 25611-SEP-A04

Completed my 2x3 this past Sunday and its fantastic. Shifts are fast and smooth. If you haven't done this yet or are planning to make sure to go with Redline Type-F. Car has 111,000 miles on it and it seems to have a whole new life now. Big thanks to IHC and Swoosh for the right ups about this!

Completed another drain/fill this past saturday so now I'm at the 2x3 stage. WOW what a difference another change made!! You can certainly tell the faster shifts of the type-F fluid. I am so glad I discovered this while my car still has decently low miles (54,000).
Going to do my last change this saturday along with the rv6 v3 j-pipe

I waited a 1000 miles to change my fluid that way I knew my next drain would be a good mix of the old and new fluids. I drive about a 1000 miles a week so my 3x3 will be completed this Sunday. I did my switches with the first drain and fill but I've seen people suggest it on the first 1x3 or after the the last 3x3 just to see if the switches made a difference. Don't think there is a wrong way or time to do them as long as they get done.

i use maxlife dex/merc and added a bottle of platinum lubegard http://lubegard.com/~/C-113/LUBEGARD+Platinum+Universal+ATF+Protectant and now it drives like a champ, it enhanced the shifts. never dissappointing. becareful of the redline atf Ive read horror stories about it on acura/honda trans. btw i use about 3 qts in my 07 type S, how much r you using?

Running Maxlife DexIII by itself is a much better idea than adding the bottle of FM to bring it back to Z1 levels. You started off good then paid extra money to screw it up.

Even on lubegards site it states:
"Enhances DEXRON® III, VI/MERCON® , V ATF to perform like a highly friction modified ATF, such as:
– Honda® Genuine ATF
– Toyota® Type T/TII/TIV
– Mopar® ATF + 3® (7176)
– Mopar® ATF +4® (9602)
– And all other highly friction modified ATF's"
This stuff is a friction modifier additive. The point of changing the ATF fluid is to remove the heavily friction modified fluids that cause issues with transmissions going bad. By you adding that garbage into your system you might have as well just gone back to filling it with Z-1.– Toyota® Type T/TII/TIV
– Mopar® ATF + 3® (7176)
– Mopar® ATF +4® (9602)
– And all other highly friction modified ATF's"
Seriously people don't listen to this clown.

read the chart on the site. it is a trans tempurate fluid protectant. it further enhances ATZ1. if your using off brand dex 3 then added a friction mod is the way to go. that is what i did, i never said i used ATZ1 but i know it better than REDLINE and i read HORROR stories about redline overheating trans, and misshifting trans. hahaha

The so called overheating protection is only one of the things is supposedly does the other is reduces friction & wear on metal parts and internal components. Again like I said its a friction modifier additive. If your gonna add this stuff you might as well use OEM fluids. Again I will point out the fact that changing the ATF fluid is to reduce or remove the friction modifiers that deteriorate the transmission.
I highly doubt its better then Redline. Redline has been tested and proved by so many AZ members. I've only seen a handful of these so called "horror" stories and those same people most likely already had trans issues to start with.
Seriously dude troll some other forums with your nonsense.

tell me who in the world will use redline ATF type F (RACING) for everyday driving EH? like i said "HORROR STORIES". My solution for the perfect trans ATF replacement is DEX 3 with LUBEGARD PLAT. plain and simple, it brings it up to OEM ATZ1 LEVELS with extra protection.

Just because it is a "racing fluid" doesn't mean it can't be used for everyday use. My RX-7 has many "racing" parts, fluids, and modifications and it can used for everyday driving.
That's wonderful you recommend that, now take your lubriderm nonsense to another forum or make a new post. This is about Redline Type-F.

This thread just got destroyed by that troll. Please anyone reading this, do not be concerned by what he says. Many on this forum use Redline Racing ATF for everyday driving (I have for 20,000 miles) and have seen much better every day shifting and less wear on their transmissions. I hope we can close this thread before it gets any worse.

I did my first 1x3 in my 45k 04 about 200 miles ago, and have seen nothing but improvement. Giving it a little longer, then doing 2x3 and the pressure switches. For the record I had no problems with the transmission, this is more of preventive maintenance and my being anal over my TL.

Show me one horror story and I'll produce 10 horror stories on Z1 and 10 successes on Type F.
Your solution puts you right back at Z1 but more expensive. You still end up with a dino oil that relies on an additive to give it high temp protection which will still never match the high temp protection of a synthetic oil in the first place. Hell, you might as well take a dino engine oil and condition it into ATF. It's not that much different than what you're doing.
You don't WANT OEM FM levels.
No one can possibly be this retarded. I'm done feeding the troll. And before you take off with me calling you a name, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're not retarded and you're doing this on purpose, aka troll.

^^^ this website is to learn dude....some people are edgy and you need to post what you have and listen and learn and not make things personal....and only people who listen more, learn more...

I have no problem having a civil discussion with you even if we disagree. We're all here to learn. Just take a step back and read all of the info on here and you'll see where this idea originated from, the testing that has been done, and the reason why so many use it now. If you still disagree, that's fine but right now you're saying all of this stuff without any knowledge of why we're doing what we're doing.

So I have read this whole thread and the other one recommend to me. But yet to see my 2 questions directly answered. Can you run straight type f? In the other thread they said it could cause shuddering of some sort is this not correct? Also what's the most miles people have put on this oil? It really does cut down on wear and prolong tranny life? I understand it has no frition additive's so there is in therory less wear. I only have 19k on my car and plan to run this for the next 6 yrs till I sell it.
Cliff: I just want a direct answer please.
