Recently purchased 2004 TL... question
Hi folks. Recently traded in my 2000 TL for a used 2004 TL. The only car I've ever driven is the 2000 TL and the 2004 drive is obviously way different. I haven't noticed any of the major common problems that I've read about in the forum (i.e. vibration), but am just curious as to whether some of the engine sounds coming from the car are typical for the car. Specifically, the sound I'm noticing is a low growling sound that typically comes from deceleration (although a variation of the sound does come from acceleration).
I'm hoping the sound is just a result of having a more powerful engine. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
So glad I found this forum.

Alright, edit of above post. I was completely mistaken. After driving around tonight for a bit, I realized that the sound I was noticing was the infamous "droning" sound when the car is in the 5th gear around 1500 RPM. Fortunately, the car does not vibrate as many other posters have mentioned.
From reading, it appears this droning sound really isn't fixable. Planning on going to the dealership this weekend to see if the car had the dynamic damper put on. Hoping it does something.

Might be the exhaust or the engine braking. Also during acceraltion, does it occur under 1800 RPMS? If so, that is normal.
