Recall Coming Soon

Just saw this today:

Automotive News / July 05, 2004

TOKYO - Honda Motor Co. plans a recall of some 640,000 vehicles worldwide due to suspected defects with transmission and fuel pump systems, Reuters reported last week.

The recall will cost an estimated $74.8 million.

Of the total, Honda said it will recall about 500,000 Accord, Acura TL and Acura CL models in the United States, while recalling 38,000 units in Canada.

Works for leases the same as purchases. Either wait for a letter or just call the delaership and set up a service.

They are recalling a faulty part. They will replace the part, not the vehicle.

Check out this one... on June 30, 04.

http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news...ao&refer=japan

From Bloomberg...

"... ...June 30 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co. is widening a recall of vehicles in the U.S. and Canada to 1.14 million units, among its largest, covering Accord and Acura cars that have the same transmission fault that triggered a light-truck recall this year.

Japan's third-largest automaker is voluntarily recalling 536,950 vehicles, with V-6 engines and 5-speed automatic transmissions, in addition to those already announced in April. The company is also recalling 79,531 units in Japan to fix faulty transmissions and fuel tanks, starting tomorrow... ..."

IMO, we're talking about the same one...

only some of the early 04 are included. the later build 04s have internal oil jets and need no repairs. if your car is one of them than you wil recieve a letter.
