Here is the sticker for my 07 Type S HPT 6spd manual:

Try the EPA fuel mileage site. Similar to the 270 HP when the 3G was introduced, but downgraded to 258, similar to the EPA fuel mileage as more realistic figures are now available and in your case 18/27. Check the site, it will provide you with the old and new figures.

Actually that's the way I feel about your comments.
You constantly make comments not knowing, or unable to comprehend the subject matter, or in reality, just not knowing much at all.

^ I agree with Turbonut- the EPA estimates are very accurate. I wish people would at least check out the www.fueleconomy.gov site and you might be surprised how much relevant information is there. I think this is one of the Government's better web sites.

The bigger question is why somebody ignores the EPA information on the car's window sticker and then complains when his car's mileage is actually better than what the estimate is. That does not make sense to me at all. The garbage about the SRT-8 and it's gas mileage is very suspect. We have asked for basic MPH related information and I have yet to see that too. I suggest we lock this thread since it seems to be going nowhere.

it's known the EPA's cycle is horseshit compared to the EU urban cycle they use to test. estimates are an average speeds regular drivers rarely see. in temperatures that are constant. anyway. the sticker is used to compare vehicles you are shopping for. NOT for what you will see driving it daily.

i'm sure if i spent the time to explain things more thoroughly things would be different but i'm always in a hurry and posting in between sending other info for work.

either way, i'm ASE certified and have a handle on how things work.

i like how you come to argue that the EPA is extremely accurate.

this guy posts the old info from before the EPA ALMOST got their heads out of their asses and corrected their testing procedure. YET, HE gets better than what the window sticker lead(past tense) him to believe.

then you go on to say how the mileage should actually be lower than that, yet he gets better than the higher set.

so you either don't read, or you are too incompetent to realize you have proven the EPA doesn't know what they are talking about, which is just what i said. if you actually dispute this, you should re-read through the thread and count how many people have claimed far better mileage than the EPA estimates, which again says 'the EPA is not accurate'

I got both. A sc 2006 TL avg 25 mpg. My jeep srt 8 gets 11.2. Both numbers are with the wife driving (lead foot).

Got to give it up to the srt8 for holding it's retail value so well. She just blew the motor and that was pricey, $15k but overall love both cars.

Radiator hose busted and she just kept on driving until it quit....women,

hmm, so SC doesn't hurt MPG,,,, I WANT IT!!

and,, please,, jeep SRT8 and 300C SRT8 are two different machines with some sharing components..
like C230and C55 AMG lmao.

btw,, I think you could have fitted a 11.3 comp 426ci stroker for 15k (plus labor lol)

or,, are you not fan of mods??????

I just admire those AWD 3.73's running down the strip doing 8's and 9's

Am I supposed to be impressed? There are millions of ASE oil change specialists. Have seen many ASE certified mechanics that have no clue, even when they are trying to repair a car that is the same make that is sold by their dealership.

Why do you think dealership service departments get such a bad rap, the ASE mechanics are incompetent.

This is certainly not a blanket statement as I know some excellent ASE mechanics, as well as the oil change variety.

Yes, you are right; there are many people that believe they get better mileage than what is published, even better than the revised figures. I've had 7 JGC, and on the forum, people will state that they get 24/25 MPG on a V-8 Jeep, so I assume that it makes people feel better to let others know that they are getting the same mileage as a hybrid. There are always going to be people that see more or less fuel mileage than what is published, naturally depending on driving conditions, but nobody is going to see 6-8 MPG more on a consistent basis.

I consistently get 5 mpg worse than any woman I know that drives the same car. IMO, driving style is the biggest determining factor in getting good MPG, hands down.

EPA? ECU MPG? Who cares.

Only you know how much MPG your car gets when you open your wallet to fill up your tank.

Drive your car right, maintain your car correctly, and shed off a few pounds to maintain the best MPGs.

The reason my wife can't stand it when I drive her car (Equinox Sport). She goes from 22-23mpg down to 18-19 after I have had it for a day.

100% agreed. No facts, just pointless arguing. The thread could've been ended the day it started with some mph info. It's to be expected in the 3g section these days.

If you didn't gauge them, you have no idea....

Majofo's spark plugs (note brown rings):

Now, if you really want better mileage, get a K&N air filter
