I'm trying to buy a used '04 TL, and I'm using a broker to help me find a lease return. I've checked out a few at various dealers, and come to some decisions on ext. and int. colors, but I just noticed that some TLs have a small 'lip' type spoiler on the trunk, while others don't. While this small 'lip' type spoiler is nowhere near as ugly as the typical spoiler, I'd still prefer not to have it on the car I buy, but it's not clear how to tell the broker what to look for in the vehicle descriptions. Was this spoiler part of a 'package' that also includes other items?

If all else fails, can it be removed? Are there holes drilled into the trunk body to accomodate it (which means, removing it is going to require paint job, which I'm not interested in)?

this lip spoiler is an accessory and is bolted on with two bolts. If you were to take it off, you would be left with two holes in the decklid that could be filled, but owuld cost a lot. The only standard lip spoiler is on the 2007 TL Type S.

This spoiler "CAN" be part of a package which costs 5k extra. The package is called the a-spec package and it includes a front bumper lip, new side skirts, a rear bumper add-on, 18" 10 spoke rims, steering wheel (has blue stitching), suspension and either the lip spoiler or wing spoiler. The car will have a-spec package if it has the little badge that says a-spec on the trunk lid near where it says TL. I will post the difference between an A-SPEC TL and NON-A-SPEC TL

Notice the rear bumper, the wheel-gap, the front lip etc. Disreguard the rims as they are aftermarket, but a very nice TL none-the-less. Pics belong to K-Shawn and Johny2k
