Rear trunk spoiler lip stolen :(
some one stole my rear trunk spoiler lip from my 2007 TL-type S last night. Im looking to get it replaced as soon as possible. So can somebody point me to a site where i can get a cheap one online? dealer quoted $665 for parts and $175 for installation. doesnt make sense. Anyways, The color is Carbon Bronze pearl. I hope i can get a painted spoiler lip for a good price.

the OEM type-s decklid is very expensive, as you've found out. but you can get a replica off eBay for much cheaper and you can't tell the difference. not sure if they come painted or not but you'll save a bunch of money either way.

OP SB is right replicas are kind of hard to tell; I am considering buying one. I think the spolierstore is where everyone goes to. I know there are more just cant remember right now and sorry about the theft......damn theives.

TO ALL OF YOU WHO SAID THERE ARE TYPE-S REPLICAS ON EBAY YOU ARE ALL WRONG! . 
The spoilers you see on ebay for the TL sold by "TheSpoilerStore" or "BMWOEMSHOP" and other sellers are replicas of the BASE TL spoiler.
As you all know, the Type-S spoiler is a HUGE difference compared to the OEM base lip.... The OEM Base lip and the replica ebay lip spoilers look somewhat identical, but OEM still looks better (but pricier. I have a ebay lip spoiler)

same happen to me they tried stealing mine out of my base tl dgp scraped my trunk with god knows what but im assuming they could take it since its screwed to the trunk but ima gonna be selling maybe around jan or feb

thanks for all the responses. No, it doesnt look like i have any damages on the trunk when they took the spoiler out. if somebody could give me a link to website where i can purchase a spoiler, that would be much appreciated. i looked online but everything i see is for the regular TL. or should i just go get it replaced at the dealer? its a lotta money but i think i will have insurance coverage for atleast 200$ so i might have to still pay around 500$. sucks i dont have a garage. its just frustrating when people mess with my car. btw, i had my windshield broken last year for no reason too. tired of this shit.

How did they manage to unbolt it from the inside and/or not damage your trunk? Was it an oem lip to begin with?
And is there a base lip and a type s lip? I always thought there was nothing, lip spoiler, or trunk spoiler.

to OP, I feel your pain. I got mine stolen about 1 yr ago and I have yet to replace it fearing it would get stolen again. They ripped mine off clean, didn't damage my trunk. The bolts were still in the trunk though. Check acurapartsworld.com, I just called and they sell the type s spoiler for $317.46 painted. The rep I spoke too stated that the type s trunk spoiler is a part of the car and not an accessory which is different from the base deck lid because which is an accessory item. Looks like I'll be ordering mine from here.

there is no replica type S decklid spoilers on ebay. there is only the BASE Model. I don't know why people keep saying get it on ebay. The two spoilers look totally different. the type is is bigger and looks much cleaner.

maybe someone should contact the bmwoemshop or thespoilerstore and get them to make it. I never realized they were any different.
At $500...I'd just buy a trunk lid with a type s spoiler already on it from a junkyard, or get the holes filled and repaint it.

The first image they have listed is the Type-S spoiler (false advertising...) while the second lower quality image is the base spoiler. The Type-s comes up a bit more, has a sharper trailing edge, and covers a bit more of the trunk. I can notice a significant difference, but to each their own...

I didn't say there wasn't one...just said I wasn't AWARE that there were more than 2 different OEM lip spoilers.
That picture only shows one aftermarket one. I'd like to physically see the difference between 2 OEM lips spoilers. Unless I misunderstood and the whole time you were saying that the knockoff is smaller than the Type S OEM one, which I did know.
