The antenna module unit (#8) is mounted on the left C pillar. It may be behind the C-pillar cover. I believe, the radio signal is amplified (behind passenger kick panel -- #11) before fed to the radio.

So I think, it's still easier to remove the radio/center console than working on the antenna directly. Besides, the plugs/connectors will not match your FM Modulator.

you are incoorrect about the plugs being different, you can use the plug that goes into that box, if you look at the picture it is B-13-40 77962(standard car antenna plug)

That B-13-40 77962 is behind the dash. He doesn't want to take the dash apart....

What I meant by "Besides, the plugs/connectors will not match your FM Modulator." is the plugs on the antenna amplifier or antenna module won't match his FM Modulator.

Acura TL2k4: Based on the image, the antenna module should be behind the C-pillar cover.

I worked on this thing last night and it's a mini motorola style plug. The plug can be found behind the rear pillar airbag cover. I read a post saying that Radio Shack makes an adapter so that you can tap into it their but, they don't. You will also have to remove the rear seats which is fun (j/k). The only way to install an FM modulator is to remove the entire nav unit unfortunately.
