Rattles in 2004 TL? Who has them and who doesn't?
I see alot of postings about rattling noises from their new cars, I am on my second 2004 tl and did and do not have any in either. Lets take a poll and see the percentage of 2004 tl cars that have rattles and have gone back to the dealer to fix them!

I have noise coming from the visor, and a groan that comes from the dash/console when I accelerate from a stop. I thought I may have fixed the groan by placing foam in the center speskaer cavity but that didn't do the trick. Any ideas out there??

rattles driving me nuts!!!
i had my o4 TL for about 3 weeks and l love it. l do notice some light rattle noises coming from the 2 small carbonfibre storage compartments located in front of the gear box. it drives me crazy when l hear little rattles. l don't store anything in them and l leave the flops open to avoid hearing the rattles. so the two little compartment are useless to me. anybody else have this problem?

So, if I had a rattle and the dealer fixed it and I now have no rattles, which one do I pick?

I didn't see one that said the dealer fixed it, just that it was taken in for repair. There are a number of members here who have many, have had it in for repair, and still have many (sometimes more than when they started).

I had one slight creak or noise that was from the driver door. Found out it was just the compartment shifting around. I opened and closed it a few times, and found out that the noise only happened when the compartment was closed. Cure.....just put some silicone lubricant on the areas that touch, and the noise was gone. Car is 100% rattle free at this time.

Glove box rattle is driving me nuts. Brought the camel interior 04TL back to dealer to repair and it subsided for a month or so and its started up again. Think the latch becomes loose on the glove box but not sure of the exact source. Bringing it back again before I loose my mind.

I actually had my car to the dealer 4 times for this issue, and they never fixed the rattle. So I started to try DIY... this helps if you do it properly. If you like, here is the link... http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83788 DIY plus photos... :o

one rattle and it sits somewhere behind the stereo. gets me a little pissed but im scheduled for an appointment wednesday. 3600 miles. Getting new tires, fix headliner above high mounted break light, check leather wear on both front seats, fix memory seats. it doesnt work and align doors on passenger side. They never were lined up since purchasing it back in March. But, I love the car and know ill love it more once they correct the problems. They also are giving me an Acura TSX while mine is in the shop. Always wanted to see the difference from the two vehicles so it will be fun to take my car in. Better to look on the bright side then get upset.

One slight rattle in the front passenger side door arm rest. It's minor really. Last night I tightened the one visible phillips head screw but it didn't change anything. I'm debating on whether to have the dealer mess with it at my first service or not. Car purchased in May.
No other problems, rattles, noises, or issues (I do have brake clicking that is supposedly normal, and the ABS clunk at 10 mph, also normal).

Had the rattle in the rear deck. The dealership fixed in and problem solved. I even took the other postings that described the problem but they were fully aware of what it was and solved in the same day.

hahaha I've actually had a few rattles that come and go (I don't hear as many as I did in the winter). Anyway, I investigated a few of the rattles that I was pissing and moaning to myself about [stupid fricking Acura], and I found one of them was a leveling ball in my kids car seat, and another was my leatherman in the console vibrating against the plastic.
I still have a few rattles, but I plan on figuring out exactly where and when they happen so that they will get fixed on the first try.
One of the very few problems that I had with my previous car (a 97 Prelude) was an annoying rattle from the moonroof. It took about 3 trips to the dealer to get it diagnosed and fixed. I had to figure out that it only happened at 30mph in 2nd gear before they could find/fix it.

Late June build... I have only one constant rattle/noise. The drivers side door, something is moving in there. It is pretty annoying as it is right in my left ear. I will probably have the dealer look at it when I take my car in for scheduled service. Until then I just play the music louder!
I also have another intermittent rattle in the dash to the left of the speedo/tach. It only rattles in the morning when it is cooler out and the car has been sitting outdoors overnight. That one is pretty loud.
