Ran At Moroso

I'm new to the board, first post, and new to the car. I recently bought a new 06' TL 6MT back in December.

Well I popped her cherry. I really was worried about launching her since I had never done it, and it turned out I had good reason to worry.

Spun and hopped all through first and pulled a glorious 2.654 60' on the first run. Ended up running a 15.292 @ 96.08. Was better than I had expected, especially with that horrid launch. Dropped the tire pressure down to 30psi from 35psi on the next run.

Second run was a much better launch. Pulled a 2.367 60' and broke into the 14's with a 14.895 @ 96.10.

Dropped 5psi to make it 25psi and that seemed to work. The rest of the times ended up in this order:
60' 2.349 14.928 @ 95.84
60' 2.322 14.789 @ 96.03
60' 2.305 14.664 @ 96.54
60' 2.293 14.720 @ 96.38

My last run I was just trying to up the ante and was my highest launch at 3500 rpm. Provided the best 60', but that was it.

All in all it was a good night. Ran the car bone stock, 3/4 tank of gas, nothing removed, and hit my goal of a 14.

The story of the night goes to the cars that were there. In order of wowness for me SLR Mclaren, 2 M6's, and the Lotus Exige. A few other nice cars, but those took the cake. The SLR ran an 11 flat and the M6's were near 12.3 the entire time.

Very good times for a stock '06 seems like you have a pretty good idea of how to launch your TL, I'm impressed.

Thanks, those six runs were the only time I had launched her. I still haven't found the sweet spot and I probably won't until I get some new tires. The all seasons suck, I'm used to running 2.0 to 2.1 60's.

Like I said above I still haven't found the sweet spot. I know for a fact I can pull better 60 foots with a decent set of tires.

I have no idea what this car should be running stock. My goal really was to break 14's. The 14.6 left me to believe that with cooler temps, less gas/weight in the car, and decent tires I might be able to pull something in the 14.4xx range. Whether it's possible or not time will tell I guess

Yeah tires are key, I'm sure if you were really set on getting into the 13s you could always powershift.
