My brother told me about cracking the window and having water fall directly to the arm rest area.
I ended up buying the set and I'm waiting for it to stop raining so I can install them. Actually I think the rain guards look good on the TL. Fits the curves nice on the windows and every time I've seen them on a TL they appear to be not flush but sort of in a bit. The look is nice IMO, but to each his own.
I was thinking of buying the colored matched mud guards but I think adding those would make the curves/lines of the bottom portion of the TL look awkward and kill the nice flow it has.

I've got a set of weathertech visors. They fit into the window channel and don't use adhesive. they are lightly tinted, not dark. I've had them on many cars and I love them.
I don't like the acura ones though, too dark and they just stick on to the door frame, problem with this is they will leak.
You can hardly see the weathertech ones.

but that's when it's a good idea to keep the windows, crack/vent the sunroof (if the direction of the rain/wind allows it), and/or use the ventilation system.

I installed mine today. Took about an hour or so. Took my time and didn't have too much trouble installing them. Had to pull the weather channel out a couple of times to reposition it correctly again. By the time I began working on the other side I had it down. Looks good and at night you can hardly see them on.

I actually really like the way they look and I've had them on several past cars. Really makes a difference because I like to have the windows cracked and hate water on the door arm rest.
It's a nasty feeling driving with a wet arm that keeps getting dripped on.

pretty much the only time there is enough moisture on my car to drip into an open window I am washing the car and then I am on the outside and the windows are up so its not very useful for me

One thing I do wonder is, my 06 TL is a pretty darn quiet car with the windows up, but open the window and I would say it is one of the noisiest cars I have owned when the window is down. Now how much of that is actually the fact that it is truly noisy or is it more the drastic change from so quiet of a cockpit before opening the window? Do the rain guards make any difference in the level of sound, or more importantly can you hear the guards when the windows are up?

I'm not a smoker but I do really enjoy fresh air when I'm in the car. It's not like they protect anything if the windows are fully or half way down, but you can open them 2-3" with no problems with the guards on.
Maybe I'm odd, heck the grilling season doesn't end here until it gets into the teens or below...

Then when putting the rubber molding back just be patient with it as you may need to pull it out again and then re-insert it to make sure that it's seated just right. The contours should be smooth and you should only see a small bump where the clips are attached underneath the front of the door frame.

I put the weathertech ones on my car, too. They look great, but they have a design flaw.
PRO: Serve their purpose, very easy to install, no tape, little or no additional wind noise
CON: Design flaw causes damage to the car
Yes. You read that right. The defelctors that go on the front windows have a very sharp edge at the bottom front portion. The vendor applies a piece of "tape" over this edge, but it doesn't stop it from cutting through the vinyl wrapping on the dew wipers at the bottom of the windows (these are the black pieces of trim along the bottom of the windows that contain the "brush" that wipes water away when you roll the window down).
I sent mine back to the vendor and they have sent me a new set of dew wipers to install on my car. They will also be sending me a new set of deflectors along with some thicker black "caps" to install on that bottom edge and prevent the issue from occurring again.
