I have a quick question regarding the 3rd gen TL keyfobs

My one is starting to show lots of wear and tear. I was searching on ebay and stumbled across this:

however it says only for MDX, NSX, etc...but the picture looks pretty darn close if not same as our 3rd gen TL key fobs

My question is--do we share the same keyfob dimensions as the MDX, RSX, etc of 2001-2006?

Thanks for you help guys--also any other alternatives to "key fob restoration" and what not would be cool too.

Missing trunk release; not the same.

I ASSUME you'll want a brand new trunk release button, also.

Otherwise a brand new looking keyfob + a worn out trunk button would not look good.

 

Thanks...didn't catch the lack of trunk release button...

i may have to suck it up and have a faded out trunk button cause the overall key fob itself is pretty beat up at the current moment....

Has anyone ordered the switchblade key from Heel/Toe Auto that is shaved down to work with the 04-06 TL?

I am interested in both these topics. I ordered a used replacement key fob off ebay and it looked like crap compared to the pic on the ad. I will probably try the link above.

Are these guaranteed to work with the 2004 TL? What additional steps are required to make this happen? Programming and key cutting?

Does anyone know what it would run after all is said and done $ wise? After all, it's just a key

 

I got A switchblade key from someone on eBay milled and cut and transponder installed from my other key all for 150$

Great upgrade. Love it

 

Does that mean you had to send your own current fob/key in?

So the process went: Commit to buying on Ebay, send your current fob+key set to them via mail, and have them return back the switchblade setup?

Would we retain the original keyfob/key that we send? Or do those go "useless" after the process
