Questions on switchbacks mod.
Hey guys, just have some few questions about switchbacks, ive been reading on other peoples post but they all seem to know the basics so they never talk about it haha.
I have an 05 TL and want to put my mark on the car with some personal mods, and i think switchbacks is one of the easiest and nicest mods. And i come to this forum because i heard a lot of good comments on how helpful and a fast response people here can be so i just want to say thanks in advance.
So here are some of my basic questions...
What type of bulb do i buy from (http://autolumination.com/switchback.html)?
to get the parking light white, and blink amber/white/amber/white?
How do i remove the front amber reflector?
Can i install the LED without taking the entire headlight unit out?
Is the installation as easy as plug and play?
Thanks for the help everyone

You want Type 2 switchbacks. White-amber-white. I got mine from vleds.com. Like them on Facebook for a coupon code.
You have to bake the headlights to remove the amber pieces. Check the 3G Garage for DIY.
You can install switchbacks without removing the headlight. Owner's Manual has instructions.
The bulb is pretty easy, but you also need resistors. There are numerous threads on resistors, but check the one by Roger555 for the latest method. Research this.

Pretty sure Type 1 (the originals) switchbacks go amber-white-amber-white while blinking and Type 2 switchbacks go amber-off-amber-off-amber-off while blinking (I know because I have these Type 2s).
Also if you don't want hyperflashing, search "The Garage" for write-ups on how to install load resistors/ adding a small resistor to the "brain" of the turn signals (I'm an advocate for the latter)

wow i dont think i can do this mod, because im semi new to car mods and with the baking and breaking the seal of the headlight, i know something bad can go wrong if someone inexperience like me do it, by myself...
well thanks anyways for the help guys, at least now i know how to do it if i ever get a non amber colored reflector in a different headlight

Yeah IMO Type 2's are the way to go just looks a lot more "OEM" I guess you can see. Plus when you put your turn signal on it would grab a lot of attention sitting at a stop light or whatever. Plus I think its pretty cool how the white parking light shuts off then the amber blinker goes on. I say go Type 2's from VLEDs.com and I also recommend the 5000K ones which will match the OEM HID's perfectly.
