Question on Coolant and tranny fluid
So today was my Car day, I purchased GM Synchromesh Modified Friction, air and cabin filters, spark plugs, oil and filter, seafoam, coolant and power steering fluid to get my car up to date with 83k miles.
So first question, I went to the GM dealership and they sounded concerned when I said I wanted 3 friction modified. I'm not sure why, but he made it out that friction modified is scary haha. What exactly does this mean over the regular stuff.
Second I went to the Honda dealership to pick up coolant and he asked if my coolant was blue and mine is green. The tech said they switched colors and it is completely fine to mix the green and blue. Does this sound accurate?
Thanks for the help. I also cleaned the car and slapped the aspec badge on and adjusted the headlights after the Aspec drop. I will post pics soon!

Safe to assume your car is MT? The green coolant that is in your 3g TL should have been blue from day one. Maybe someone changed it out already. In other words it does interchange with green coolant.

yes MT, how blue is the blue? It is very low in tank, and it looks greenish but maybe with more in it, it would be darker looking more blue. The tech said it was green to start, I don't know how reliable they are but...What if you mix coolant that shouldn't be?

i stuck a paper towel in the tank and it is green and the new stuff is blue. I read online from another source that Honda changed from green to blue just like the honda tech said. I'm going to mix it...I DOUBT the guy before me changed the coolant, but then again he may have as it has 83k miles on it...

If you are changing the coolant, change all of it- not just top off the res bottle!
Requires draining radiator AND engine block for a good job.
Coolant last about 5 years then goes downhill
