Quality and Ease of Service
I was cleaning up my TL the other day and noticed that it looks like my front drivers side 18" OEM rim has 2 places on it around the inside lip of the rim meeting the tire where the alloy coating is stripped to bare metal. Since I only have 2500 miles on the car and have done no maintenance to wheels (balancing or removal), what is my dealer likely to tell me is as a result?
I know I did not stick a screwdriver in between the tire and the rim (which is what it looks like). I know I was the first 04 ASPEC sold from my dealer in my region (or at least that is what the dealer stated), but I figure the Acura installers deal with tires and rims on a regular basis.
I have been informed that Acura service is top notch, but was curious about others experiences of a similar nature. With such a small flaw in the OEM rim, should I prepare to be treated as if this is a minor or trivial issue or will they be more accepting of the consumer (myself) and what I believe is a flaw coming from the dealership. I have had the car since May and only now noticed. I am worried I will have the finger pointed towards me and told I am responsible for the defect. I will approach the dealer very soon, but was curious in the meantime. Thanks.
