This is why i love this forum. Lol

Look, if you wana get ur car 100+ do it and find out for yourself. Just the fact that you even have to ask means you dont have much experience.

You will find that most of this forum will not condone or support illegal actions. What we will support however is track days n some members have been know to drag thier tls on the strip.

You should note though the 3g tl is not a speed demon. It has decent power for what it is, a four door sedan. But it has little aftetmarket support

Good luck in you ventures

I pushed mine past 145 and the only thing I noticed, was a modded charger R/T on the front, and 4th gear not letting me accelerate much.

No. I hit 100 once with the TL. I just don't need to ever stay at that speed. Driving privileges are too important to me.

was in a hurry (family emergency) and went from KC to STL (268 miles) in 2 hours and 58 minutes....you do the math !!!

I've almost maxed the car out top speed (very dumb I know), I would've kept going but then my sunroof visor started vibrating like crazy....first and last time I go over 110. Other than that car is still running fine.

Lmao @ the picture responses! And yes the car can handle it with no problem but your suspension, tires, and brakes better be in good shape....

OP why would you want to go that fast? I mean there is no fun going that fast. you will have to be really careful of steering/control, your eyes must work overtime to look for extra potential trouble area and your brain must able to process all of these infos much faster. I was doing 147mph when I was young (17 years old lol) but now every time I hit the highway, cruise control set at 75 mph. I like to enjoy the ride and not worry about hitting someone and cause a major accident.

110 is the fastest I've gone in my car and I don't care to do it again. Its pretty nerve wracking...requires a TON of attention and care going that fast.

Anyway, no nothing will happen...

Did just over 100 just to see if it would .. no issues.

I ran my 03 Passat at 100 MPH for close to an hour on the freeway in southern Idaho .... tell ya what ... it liked it a lot better than the TL and it felt just fine.

Summer 2010: 120 mph for a few seconds. Then maintained at 110mph for like 10 min. The engine was running smooth, firm and steady. Probably from the Redline oil in the powertrain. No problem until now

People are acting like 100mph is some insane speed...anyone who has ever owned a crotch rocket knows that 100 comes really fast...im not recommending you do it regularly on a stock tl but as long as your doing it on a good road that you know well its really not such a big thing if ur even a half decent driver

I did 144mph once. Was going downhill on an open interstate during broad daylight and could easily see hundreds of yards ahead of me. There also wasn't another car in site. It got to the point where the car was accelerating way to slow, so I just shut it down. I thought the TL handled it like a champ at the time.

I did this when I was sixteen. Nowadays I wouldn't dare go over 80mph.

There was a army guy a few years ago that shot a video of his TL going 140+ for some time in Germany on an Autobahn. That TL did just fine. I have done 100+ on some remote stretches of highway 395 or on 5 in the central valley where the stinky cows are and my car does just fine- pays to have a great radar detector just in case.

My 03' TLS went 68 miles in 35 minutes. You can do the math. Not a problem with it. My 07' TL hasn't been over 100 for that long but it's the same engine so I would think it would be fine. I could be wrong but I think our cars top out at like 140. I've only been 137ish. Try it, it's fun.

I got a ticket for 101 once. I was already hard on the brakes when I got clocked (and the officer knew it). I won't EVER do that again.

If my crappy 94 Civic hatch can handle a pegged speedo, the TL will surely hold up. Don't forget to say your prayers...

hey, if you get caught in PA over 30mph they pull you out of the car.. I think other states do that too.. I think you also get your license suspended for 3 months... not 100% sure on that.. I know it happens when you get caught racing

Yes they certainly can. Getting arrested is almost always at the officers discretion. SO YOU BETTER BE REALLY NICE!!!
