Program Cars/Service Loaners for sale
My local dealer has 08 TL-S Program Cars and Service loaners for sale. My question is this:
What do the dealers pay for this car. The sticker says "SVC LNR"
I want to make an offer on this car for a rock bottom price but I don't know how low they will go. Is it all profit for the dealership?

IIRC, service loaners are something the dealership has to provide - eg, from their own stock. Acura does not require each dealership to do so, but I believe it helps customer satisfaction (except when you can not get one). So they still had to buy theirs from Acura.
Go in with your offer and see what they counter with. IMO, any service loaner has had SEVERAL previous owners. I know I would drive a loaner hard.

Do you plan on keeping the car until 150K?
Do you plan on keeping the car until it dies completely on you?
To be honest, I wouldn't mind buying a loaner car. The cars are Certified Pre-owned, the break in is mostly done by the managers at the dealers, and all services are done on time or before time to keep them running in tip-top shape. Granted they have been beat on a bit, but that's why the warranty comes into play. If anything breaks, warranty will cover it.

still warranty is great but do you really want to keep taking the car to the dealership back n forth problably spend most of its time in the dealer getting fixed that on the actual road. my
p.s. I would be one of the people mistreating the crap out of a loaner car when i take my car to the dealership lol would never treat it like my own.

I personally wouldn't buy a previous vehicle used for loaner purposes.
However, I think csmeance has some good points i.e. well-maintained, certified, and alot of warranty left is reassuring.

well.. just make sure it's warrantied by American Honda and not just the dealership.
I just took out an RDX loaner.. of course I love to hear the turbo engage.. so I, like everyone, drove the *ish out of it.. my gf actually checked out the loaner and the service manager said "don't worry about the CEL.. it's not important" - then I checked the oil life and it was 5%!!! wtf!?!.. well.. lol..
hey.. if the price is right + warranty.. buy! but don't be suprised.. and if you think the program cars are taken care of you might be mistaken.. at least the loaners are liable by the customer!

I would look at kbb.com and only offer wholesale price - $1k at most. If you plan to keep it more than a few years I'd pass altogether for reasons indicated here.
I had to laugh at a nice 328Ci I looked at that had 7k miles on it, every option I wanted, that nice blue and was advertised as 'manager car'. I started it up and it has the worst valve tick and the oil light didnt immediately go off. Finally the oil light goes off but the ticking is still there. It also idled like s&$t. The sales guy says, yeah they sound like that cold! I love it. I told him this thing had been thrashed. All dealer staff whip the hell out of their cars from the second they start them cold, they go full throttle. Not good for a long life at all.

if you buy a loaner you will be driving another loaner often
i'd buy one if they gave me a great price... afterall its a honda... built tough...
guess honda should take over the moniker since soon there will be no ford

Nonetheless, what's the mileage of these vehicles? Do they have any dealer added options? Kinda hard to give you an opinion on pricing without some more info.
