I know that, but I was asking if it makes any difference. I'm a newb to chasis stiffening so please excuse my ignorance, but won't the bolts the 3 piece design allow play? Or is there meant to be some so the car can flex slightly? Me =

3 Piece vs. One Piece Construction
While one piece strut bars, where feasible, are theoretically stiffer, that the additional stiffness is minor at best, especially if one properly torques down the hinge bolts (that are main difference between these two designs). The other thing to consider is that strut bars act only in tension or compression, and the hinged aspect (once tightened) is essentially moot - especially with properly designed, low offset, low profile bars. One piece designs also have drawbacks: 1) they must be built with more slop in their mounting holes, to allow for the build tolerances from car to car in strut mounting hole locations, 2) when you need to perform service under the hood, these must be completely removed, and 3) and in some cases their design requires you drill new holes in the strut towers, and use additional fasteners in their installation. Any time new holes are drilled it creates new places for corrosion to start; and the location and strength of these holes and fasteners is not of the same caliber as that of the existing, strut mounting fasteners. One can take this argument to the extreme and include in the comparison, welded-in (to the chassis) strut bars. Installed properly these are likely the strongest; however they must be custom cut and fitted, and cannot be easily removed for underhood service.

1. Why won't the EDFC be capable with the stock strut bar? I'm really confused about that, so if you have the EDFC currently installed now, you guys are running w/o strut bars?

2. Easy install right? Simply unbolt stock bar, bolt on the new bar?

1) The strut bar is in the way if you have tein ss. The dampening adjustment knob hits the strut bar so that's why Tein tells you to remove it when you install the SS. Peeps that are running the EDFC now have modified OEM bar, the Greddy bar, or no strut bar.
