Pricing Help - '07 KBP Type-S
Local dealer has an '07 Kinectic Blue Pearl TL Type-S; they're asking $19,977 which to me is too high? What do you guys think I should pay for the car? 84xxx miles, but clean. Will need a bezel plastic piece that goes around the exhaust tips (on the bumper) (which I'll do myself). I was thinking of offering $17,300. Thoughts?

omg, you're stressing because of 19grand..............
the car isnt for you, then.
Let some one else scoop this rare vehicle up!
KBP is sexy as fuck.
also, NADA says Great condition $19,xxx
if you offer 17, the dealer is just going to laugh at you.

I'm not stressing over it really. I can afford the sticker price, but I'm not one who bends over and pays what they want. I know they do have some room to wiggle because this is in fact a USED car; not new. I have a '02 RSX Type-S now, but was wanting to upgrade to the TL.

why are you asking us?
GO OUT THERE AND GET THAT CAR FOR 17!!!!!!!!!!!
i bet that wont happen, and you're gonna end up paying around 19 plus ttl.
NADA and KBB both state EXCELLENT CONDITION at $19k.
Some one better scoop this fair deal up
also i think a new car warrants more wiggle room than a used car.

As far as the TL-S:
Make sure it has the CPO warranty. (12month/12,000mile bumper to bumper and 7year/100,000mile powertrain) Acura can verify when then run the VIN. Below are some issues I had with mine. Currently at 75K miles.
1. When you put it in reverse make sure both the drivers and passenger mirrors dont click when moving in the down position
2. When you start the car, click "ok" and look in the top left corner of the NAV screen and see if there is an "envelope." If it does, it will have some error codes stored in the computer. Mine has this (gas cap error message kept popping up; covered under bumper to bumper)
3. I would inspect the motor mounts. Additional vibrations or clunking noises when going over bumps. Common problem and mine went out at 70K miles (covered under powertrain warranty)
4. I would checkout some of the 07-08 Type-S FS here. I think this is the best deal 3G TL-S I've seen. He upgraded to an Acura ZDX!

Good luck with the purchase!

May be certified by their "used car" section then. Salesmen said it's certified by them using their 120 point inspection. So it may be the dealer's inspection and not Acura's checklist. I'll ask for the specific checklist when I go talk to the guy. I want to see what they inspected.

When I bought my TL-S the dealer said it had gone through a 120 point inspection but I didn't bother with that and took it to an Acura dealership to get a full inspection.
I know some people that used to work at dealerships and sometimes their "120 point inspection" would be a glance at the car and push it along. Mine came with a full report after and I discussed with the mechanic everything they went over.
As far as the price, that is quite an amazing deal. I got mine for $25k with 49k miles, but keep in mind I'm in Canada.

I'd never worry about any dealer laughing at me. Since we haven't seen the car in person, you would know best on it's condition and the max you'd like to spend on that particular car.
Most of the vehicles I've seen at dealers around the 30k mile range could never be classified as excellent, some barely fit the good mark.
Start at $18k OTD.
