I've decided that it is time to move on and let my 2005 Abyss Blue TL with NAVI go to another home. I'm going to pick up a 2012 TL Advance in the next month. The problem is that I am struggling on how best to price my ABP TL. I bought her new and have done some fixing up like putting on the OEM body kit, factory spoiler, backup sensors, Konig wheels, solid burl shift knob and added center console wood trim. The car is in perfect condition inside and out as it has been garaged and never seen snow. The only issue is that I drive my cars and with a 70 mile commute each day I now have exactly 100,000 miles. I've used Acura for all service except fluids ioncluding brakes and timing belt.

Kelly Blue Book and NADA put the private party value for excellent condition at $15,000 to 16,000 with this mileage and not counting the body kit, etc.

I put the car on several selling sites but no bites at $16,000. I felt that with the extras and clean shape I would get some interest and negotiate from there. am I maybe not being objective enough on the pricing? I'm planning on dropping the price to $15,500 otil not low enough for interest?

Have you tried to see what the dealer will offer you on a trade?

 

When I went in to make the deal on the 2012 I purposely kept the new car purchase separate from the offer for my car. Once they understood that they could not hide what they were giving me in the new car price we ended up at $11.5K. With the tax savings and hassle savings I would have taken $13K but neither one of would budge.
