Premium or Ordinary Gas

The modern Prius runs 13.0:1 compression and Toyota recomends 87 octane. The J35A8's 11.0:1's compression ratio is comparatively low. Compression ratio is not the only thing at play.
That said, Acura recommends 91 or higher, it should say it on the fuel cap or behind the fuel door.

No need to roll your eyes and be condescending. You can audibly hear these engines knock on regular when under load. Filling up with regular serves no purpose whatsoever. You spend only pennies more for premium and the reduction in mpg from pulling timing on regular means you get fewer miles per dollar. I did the research years ago.
Justin, I found the source(s) of my car's knock tendencies. I'm waiting to get it back on the scanner while its still hot outside to see if the octane requirements are the same. At the time I tested it, it didn't have a full fledged problem with knock but it may have been more prone to it than other TLs.

Oddly enough when mine knocked it was rarely when it was in vtec. It was usually below vtec. I've considered pulling the meth system off my turbo car for years and having it come on at 10" of vacuum just for the cooling effect.

Maybe they will take the small jump to a miller cycle but I just don't understand the reason for running an Atkinson setup over a Miller cycle over a "normal"l intelligent valve control with DI. I think I need sleep.
