I had also heard that regular gas could be used in the TL...but I've found dealers dont really know anything.

Direct injection vs port injection. Apples to oranges. Or not, can't remember. Isn't the miller cycle considered outdated tech.

Justin, I found the source(s) of my car's knock tendencies. I'm waiting to get it back on the scanner while its still hot outside to see if the octane requirements are the same. At the time I tested it, it didn't have a full fledged problem with knock but it may have been more prone to it than other TLs.

Oddly enough when mine knocked it was rarely when it was in vtec. It was usually below vtec. I've considered pulling the meth system off my turbo car for years and having it come on at 10" of vacuum just for the cooling effect.

So it's Atkinson as it looks like people already said, I should have read the thread first lol. It will be interesting to see if they switch to direct injection. DI wouldn't be as beneficial on the Atkinson setup, it would probably be more efficient with DI and a more traditional setup....Unless they decide to go higher on the compression and add DI or jump to a Miller cycle setup. Then again, fuel dilution may become a very real problem on a start stop setup that never gets the oil hot enough to burn off contaminates.

Maybe they will take the small jump to a miller cycle but I just don't understand the reason for running an Atkinson setup over a Miller cycle over a "normal"l intelligent valve control with DI. I think I need sleep.
