I am, but I've never had any problems in 12000 miles and am frankly not worried. I'll be getting it checked in a coupla weeks.

Ya I have never had any problems either and my car runs great. I just thought this might help with knowing what vins are affected by the recall.

The lady at ACS said that she didn't know when I would be getting the letter. Apparently they are being sent out in groups by zip code is what I got from her. I did get out of her that the letters are being sent out starting today though.

I don’t know how true any of this info is but I thought I would just pass on what I heard.

I think you need to look at the last 5 digits of the VIN. Not the last 4.

05485 is in the range.
55485 is not.

See the other thread for the exact range. Mine is 18XXX and is not affected....yet.

Yes but not too worried. Getting it checked when the service department is trained.

I am but no problems of any sort. All they will do is put an oil jet in which is nothing. I had a Jaguar that needed a $10 rear oil seal replaced. Take out engine, transmission, differential - replace seal, and put back everything to the tune of $10,000 - This I consider a problem. Thank God for extended warrarnties. This car is wonderful.

My VIN is in the 10,000's and I've had no problems so far. I'll wait until I get my letter before I do anything and will probably wait a while after I get it to let the service guys learn on someone else's car first.

I don't like the thought of something as big as the tranny getting replaced, but hey, what are warranties for?

mine is 000259.. the last 6 digits are your sequential serial # of build.

My only problems that I could think of are sometimes I think it shifts a little hard, up or down. And in SSS mode, it ignores the 2nd to 3rd shift for me. If I am on the pedal, and knock it to shift to 3rd, it most of the time doesn't and proceeds directly to redline and bangs off the limiter. I either have to hit it again, or come off the pedal and knock it to 3rd and then it often goes after a second or two hesitation. Oddly enough my 2000 TL did the EXACT same thing, same gear. I know I'm hitting the stick far enough because from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th or any down shifts I only have to barely tap it and it'll shift.

I had originally thought that the firmware upgrade that I got 2 weeks ago fixed it, but it's still doing it. Though it does shift 100% smoother and more instinctively now.

Where did you get the firmware upgrade from?

it's the ECU reprogramming that they do if you bring it in and complain about anything. Notably all those who had the MIL come on got it. But it appears it changes a lot of things cuz my MPG went up noticeably too. All they do is hook it up, query it and if it needs it they flash it.

I'm. in, too.. after this trip, I'll have 14k... after updating ECU firmware/software and replacing the new module of Seat Memory, my car seems perfect.

Rattle is another issue...

BTW, welcome back, folks, this is like the reunion of early 04TLers...

Hey check this out they told me to bring the car one day for the recall and then when I got there they told that they had to order the kit. so they gave me an appointment for 3 days later and when when to the dealer they told me that the machine broke down, so I told them to fix my headliner that was falling down, and they said they fix it but right after I left the dealer the headliner when down again...I'm tire of this s__t its the 4 time happening. what you people recommend me?

I'm in the recall my vin is 078##
The ECU firmware ugrade took care of the flashing malfunction light that flashed when the car gets up to 5k rpm in lower gears.
