Possible new member here!

Guys, I am selling my 04' Subaru STi tonight and buying a 2007 TL Type S, for family and work. I have a couple questions for you all.

How much was the Aero Package as an option from Acura?

Also, I will more than likely be going to the Automatic with the paddle shifter, what is your overall take on them compared to the 6-speed manual. I might get a manual if this dealership can come through and get me the price I want.

Thank you in advance and I look forward to being part of this community.

Thanks again!

Sean!

Hey Sean, welcome to AZ I had the 5AT 08 TL-S and loved it. I really didn't use the techtronic or paddle shifters much. City driving is crazy in a 6MT. But if you love the 6MT, go for it, as it's rare to find.

When you say Aero kit, I'm assuming you mean the A-Spec kit. Not sure on price but we do have vendors that sell those items. Good luck with your deal.

Yes, in the Type-S the auto is pretty peppy. The 6MT would be fun though. One reason I bought the auto is that the wife doesn't drive manual.

If u are coming from a 6spd, I would suggest u to stick with a 6spd otherwise your going find the auto pretty boring.

Yeah thats what I'd be afraid of! It such a good deal though haha! Too good to pass up if the other dealer doesn't pull through,

Yeah that is part of the reason I might get the Auto, is so my fiance can drive it.

Good luck finding a used Type S 6MT. They didn't make many, and if you were able to find one, there is a good chance it would be a ripoff. Dealers are charging ridicilous prices for them, most are over $30k. I only paid $33k for mine brand new in July 08.

There is nothing wrong with the auto for a daily driver, it performs fine. As for the Aspec kit, there was no set price from the factory. It was a dealer installed option, so it was negotiable.

Got ya, yeah I found several and like you said they all are at rip off prices, I'll prolly just get this one and sell once I can find a nice 6MT that catches my eye. The one I am getting is Certified 40K miles Black, A Spec, for 22K One Owner! Its been in their inventory for awhile and they wanna turn their inventory over so I offered 22K and they took it, so we will see.

I never shop in my area, I live in Western MD and the car is in GA. I never find deals local, so I usually just fly out and drive home. $200 flight 100 in gas and 10 hour road trip, all in a days wrok Love these smileys IWSTi didn't have this many cool ones, lol!

Sean, I've got an '07 automatic and really enjoy the power of the Type S. I don't miss the manual transmission at all. If I ever do miss it, I just use the stick or the paddle shifters. It's funny, because I was debating this with my 20 year old daughter last night. I was trying to convince her that my Type S was a manual transmission-just without a clutch!

good luck on your purchase and welcome! you can ask us which is better but the decision is all on you. it's what you like not what others like. everyone has their opinion on which is better but you should go with what you think is the best for you. I have a base 6MT and i could not be happier. 6mt is also a little rare on the 07 since they only make them in Type S. i think an auto will be easier to sell if you do decide to sell though.

Guys I actually flew to GA and the car was junk, so I started looking again and so I didn't let it slip out of my hands, I drove to Woodbridge, VA last night and bought a 2007 Silver TL Type S 6MT Certified for 24K, and I couldn't be happier. I love love love it.

I havn't owned a Honda but have had my fair share, my all time favorite was the Integra GS-r of which I have had 5 of them and loved them all.

I feel like I am going to fall in love with this Type S, it has the power, torque, and the luxuries that I always wished my other Acura's had before I turbo's them. Haha!!!!

Good luck in your search. The Type-S is a one of a kind car, with proper maintenance, you're looking at a car that will last forever.

Nonetheless, the Type-S with the body kit looks perfect. Easily add a couple of bolt-on mods like the J-pipe and PCD and you have a fast daily driver that looks better than most cars and will last longer than most cars on the road

Well congrats to you as well!

It was like amazing going from no luxuries at all to having all of this stuff haha. I'm like in electronic overload, but that is a good thing. Hell the STi was a 34K car and I didn't even have power seats lol. Well I am hoping to get pics up ASAP, we got snow and freezing rain here last night so I might get some but they won't be the best pics!
