Just went yesterday for the first time at 22,000 on my 04TL. The moon roof cover was rattling.

Not very impressed with the service shop (although not the dealer where I bought the car). The comments on this board about Acura needing to step up the quality of the dealer service enagement are on the mark.

05 TL SSM No-Navi... 7000 miles, The front passenger vent, broke inside, causing a rattle. Odd because we never touch the vent. Loud rattle. Brought it to Weir Canyon Acura (I did not buy it there) and was out of there in 10 minutes with a 2006 TSX loaner which I used for 3 days (weekend included) while they ordered and replaced the vent. All fixed up and very convenient. No complaints. Enjoyed the TSX but not even close to my TL. Never experienced service like that in 20 years with Chrysler products. Jeep, Dodge, Never again.

Exclamation Tsb 05-033

I scheduled the appointment more than three days in advance in order to qualify for a loaner car. I stated the services to be performed are the 7,500 mile service and the TSB 05-033 via the Acura dealership's website. The loaner I got was a 05 TL w/o Navi loaner car for the day. When I brought my car in at the appointed time, the Service Consultant met me and asked what service is to be performed today. I told him that I have 7,500 mile service and TSB for replacing the fuse.

Service Consultant asked if I was having any problems with the fuse and I told him no but that the TSB was a preventative measure to prevent frozen windshield washer fluid from causing the washer motor from overloading and blowing the fuse. I watched him write on the ticket "fuse update". I told the Service Consultant that I should have a loaner available since I scheduled the appointment. No problem with getting the loaner.

When I arrived in the afternoon to pick-up the car, the Service Consultant informed me that it will be next Monday (3 business days later) before they have the fuse lid label to replace my current label. It appears that they did not pre-order my label when I scheduled the appointment for TSB 05-033 and I provided my VIN. I was hoping that they would order any needed parts prior to my appointment. Guess not.

My car was washed and vacuumed. However, the driver side sill trim (the piece between the carpet and the chrome outer trim) was filthy with black/brown shoe prints. I made them clean the sill trim before taking delivery of the car. I did a quick walk around the car before I left to make sure there were no door dings or obvious damage to the rims. I also looked at the interior of the car.

The iPod Musiclink failed on my three day old '06 TL >>

I phoned the dealer and they told me to come right up, they replaced the unit in about an hour while I waited. The new one works as it's supposed to but the product in general is garbage. I'm on a quest now to have the dealer removed the unit and refund the money I paid for it when I purchased the car.

Driver side power window replaced becuase of a squeel eveytime I rolled down the window. Been back twice for the vibration and they finally replaced the damper on Thursday. They told me "I need new Tires." With 24,000 miles I really hope not. It will be the last time I put BF's on the car.

I voted "NO" but would have to admit I need to to have a rattle fixed that has been bugging me for quite some time. (One I haven't fixed myself anyway..)

Overall though, having a 2004 TL my only real complaints would be the EL-42's (replaced w/PS2's) and some rattles.

Considering my TL is over two years old and never been back to the dealer,, Not bad. It's been a fine vehicle.

Probably why Consumer Reports continues to rate it at the top of its category!

-Window regulator replaced
-CD Player unit replaced
-Paint sprayed over one small piece of sand...got the dealer to pull dents and replace side skirts instead of repaint (cant hardly see the grain of sand)

hopefully thats all it needs

Wiper Motor Replaced

Took the car in for an oil change on a rainy day and while the service tech was driving it into the shop the wiper motor stopped working. They had the car for 2 days to replace the motor and I got a TSX loaner. The repair was flawless and the car was returned washed and waxed. The only thing I can say is I am glad I didn't buy a TSX. O/K, but no TL!

@ 6800 miles my brakes were making the "i need new brakes sounds" took it in got new brake pads and resurfaced the rotors...probably 15 mins into my ride home the brakes started to squeal like an old car...took it back about two weeks later (I was on a business trip)...got new brake pads and new rotors of which the rotors weren't in stock so they gave me a loaner TL...Haven't squealed or squeaked (knock on wood).

33k -
  • Driver rear-door sticking out a little when closed...dealer could not fix, fixed myself
  • Headliner - dealer could not fix - fixed myself
  • Memory Seat - once, but going back for second time
  • Passenger window will be going in cause it does not always go auto-up
  • Dash color - dealer could not fix - I will fix myself per their latest instructions
  • Tranny - oil jet kit installed per recall
Will also tell them about warped front discs, but I suspect they won't care due to mileage - but I will try.

Overall, it has been really really good compared to some owners experience. Mine was an early build too.
