Pix of painted mud guard on SSM?

Hi there,
Wondering if anyone has their mud guard painted silver? How much did you pay and how well the paint is matching the body color? Thanks. And photos are great if you have them.

$72.00 at ABRA Paint & Collision in Metro Atlanta. Look at my slide show link in my signature. It was the best money I have spent on this car after the wheels and tires.

Very nice!! My mudguards are still in the same box the dealer left them in when I picked up my '04 TL. Did the shop use paint with a flex additive? Does the paint crack when the flaps are flexed?

Any special paint used? When I asked the dealer if they could be painted, he saidn no? He said you would see cracking/peeling.

Very nice. I'm inspired and will do the same soon. I never understood why Acura doesn't make color-keyed mudflaps.

When I removed the guards and dropped them off the shop manager took a picture of the paint on the car near the wheel well and another of the bar code on the door jam which has the paint match code. The painter took care of cleaning and prepping and I was told they would use flex additive in the paint. The painter left the guards unpainted on the surfaces facing the tires as I requested. If that causes peeling or cracking I'll post an update. They told me that as long as the guards were not impacted by anything more than would cause any other plastic body part to crack or peel they should be alright. I did not recieve a guarantee from the shop, so my fingers are crossed.

Nice! My car had the guards and I made them take them off. The mounting hardware is still there, though. I'm very tempted to do this.

Nicely done, although, IMO, your rims, while nice, make your brakes look very small.

Maddog,

How are the painted mud guards holding up after being on the car for a little while? I'm thinking of buying a set and having them painted locally (if I can find a shop that will do it for a reasonable price).

I couldn't agree more. Acura should have included color-matched mudguards on the TL. My wife's Toyota Highlander has them!

Maddog, your mudguards look very good!

They are holding up great! I guess only time will tell, plus I only hand wash the car. I just finished Zainoing the car last week so I hope that will help. Prior to painting the guards the shop took a picture of one of the doors and another of the sticker on one of the front door jambs which has the paint match code on it.
