Picked up my ASM TL-S today
Hey guys, I picked up my TL-S today and I am in love! It is so nice to have all of these luxury items, and I dont know how I have gone this long without them. My previous daily driver was a 99 civic si.
This was my Si:
And here are two pictures of my TL-S:
Nothing like the rear end of a type S!
I have plans for it, but progress will be slow until after the new year. I am looking to get an A-spec kit, different wheels like te-37s or something of that sort, coilovers (probably teins) and then a catback exhaust. I cant do the pre cat deletes and that type of stuff because of New York State inspections.
Im looking forward to being here!

I wish Acura hadn't discontinued the ASM a-spec kit. I guess Ill have to buy one in another closer and have it painted.

welcome to the site, you can register your color here https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/tl-owners-please-chime-855960/ thnx.
FYI ASM A-spec kit is out of stock and can't be order any where else (thanks to Steven bell) so you might reconsider buying in different color and repaint it.

Thanks everyone! Since it is such a beautiful day here in Upstate, NY, I am going to learn the TLs body and have my friend help buff and wax it with his porter cable skills!

Two quick questions:
I want to get a small little bottle of touch up paint for a couple nicks. Where would be the best place to get ASM touch up paint? Should I just get an OEM small bottle or go to another website?
Also, 3 of my Type S wheels are perfect, but one has a few nicks. Does anyone know of a touch up paint that will match the OEM finish?
Heres a picture of when I washed it today before we got it in the garage and broke out the porter cable:

dont bother with touch up paint, just keep it as is. the paint is metallic and you will always be able to tell where the nick was. the price is a steal! all the bells and whistles for 17k aint bad.

Im not worried about any paint chips on anything plastic. I would just like to touch up a couple that are on the metal panels so they dont rust during the winter.

Matt, I always get my touch-up paint at the dealership. Get Anthricite touch-up paint for the wheels-it's almost a perfect match.
The touch-up paint always worked fine for me.

Funny you mention type s wheel touch up paint. I recently bought a type s as well and it had a small mark on one wheel as well. My other vehicle is a 2012 Grand Cherokee in a color called mineral gray metallic. I noticed how my Jeep was almost exact same color as my type s wheels. I tried using my Mopar mineral gray touch up paint and its a perfect match!!!! Almost weird how identical it is. So if it helps you the Chrysler color "mineral gray" is a dead match for type s wheels :-)

Thanks everyone. I bought a oem bottle of Alabaster and Anthracite to touch up a couple spots on the body and one wheel.
Quick question regarding my navigation. It is locked, and my local honda dealer told me I need to locate the navi serial number. Do I have to rip out all the carpet on the one side of the trunk to find it? Or is there a better trick

Congrats!
Looks very nice, please don't put anything close to those wheels on the TL that were on the Si.

Thank you haha
Oh and as for your navi, the code should be in the owner's manual on a little card. It should be a 4 digit PIN.

Hmm, in that case you may just need to drive to the Acura/Honda dealer to have them reset it.

call the acura/honda dealer you bought the car from and request it. all you have to do is prove you're the new owner of the car and they'll give it to you over the phone. that's what i had to do.
then you need to SAVE those numbers for the radio/navi for future use. you will need to re enter them every time you disconnect the battery.

I wish I could, but I bought it from a VW/Audi dealer
I have contacted my local Honda dealer and they have no problem helping me, as they were expecting my call, but they said I need to give them the serial number for the navigation system.

^you need to find out what dealership serviced your car in the past, they will have the records. find out where that audi dealer got it from.
it took me a WHILE to get my nav number as well, as i bought mine from an automall and not an acura dealer. my car was serviced 3 states away originally, and they are who gave me the number.

OP check to see if carfax available if yes then looking into the first owner service to see if they service at the dealer where they bought the car from. The worst case scenario is you have to rip the carpet in the trunk, dismount the navi drive and get the serial number is located under the drive so you have to remove the drive.
