Picked up my 08 NBP TL-S
First of all, the car is great. I was already getting compliments at the dealer while I was transferring my belongings from my old TL.
Second, just wanted to say thanks to those who answered my questions in my other post. The process was not as bad as I thought it to be.
Anyways, I noticed both headlights are already fogging up towards the bottom. It doesn't look like there is moisture inside but more like eyeglasses fogging up when walking into a warm room from the cold outside. Hopefully it's because of the freezing weather that we've been having in NYC. It's going to get warmer over the next few days and I'll wait and see if it continues to fog up.
I'm bringing it in for a tint job this weekend and will post some pics soon after. I haven't had any problems on my previous 04 TL without the moleskin so I'm opting out of installing the moleskin this time as well. The shop I go to to uses 3M Scotchtint film. It's scratch resistant and a color-stable non-metallic film. I also think that part of the reason I didn't have problems in the past is because I didn't roll down my windows for the first 2 months after it got tinted. I usually have the auto climate control turned on 365 days. The only time I rolled down my windows was at the McDonalds drive-thru
Alright, I just wanted to share my joy with everyone. That is all.

Not that experienced, but I'd think that's not supposed to happen. unless its 40 below and all other TLs in your area are like that, theres something wrong. Insulation, maybe?
oh, and congrats on the purchase , but we need pics.

Thanks. I wouldn't mind having the dealer swap them out. These HIDs are not as bright as my 04 TL. The cutoff lines are also not as sharp. Has anyone else had problems with the headlights on a brand new TL?

My previous lease ends in March so I couldn't wait that long. And I took this opportunity to take advantage of their low MF. My 04 was NBP and I was this close to getting WDP on the TL-S. But I ended up getting the NBP.

you said you almost decided on the WDP, and we all know that there is no comparison between NBP and the WDP. NBP is #1

i dunno bout the headlights dude ive played with my 05 tl and the 08 type s at my shop the lines n colors are pretty much the same. I was about to say the type s had brighter headlights but my windshield is tinted so i wouldnt even know...but side by side the brightness is the same.

Yea, they offered the WDP for a little less (not much) but I told them to do a swap for the NBP. Both colors are nice but I'm attached to NBP.
As for the headlights, I'm almost sure that these are less bright. My gf picks me up at the gym sometimes and I use to see her coming literally from 2 blocks away. My 04 had a nicer bluish tone which lit up the whole street. Yesterday she picked me up and I didn't know it was her until she actually pulled up in front of me. That's from the outside perspective. From the inside, it looks about the same out on the road but the cutoff lines are not sharp. They look blurry and worst than my 04 headlights which had many hours of usage over a 3 1/2 year period.
Thanks korrupted. See you around!

I think I will do that but not until after the weekend. It's going to warm up here (high 50's) and I'll see if it continues to fog up. I don't think they will do anything regarding the cutoff lines. That's just a user preference.
