PIAA Super Silicon Wipers (Review)

At the advice of a fellow AZiner I purchased the PIAA Super Silicon Wipers. Here is a quick review for anyone interested in this product.

-These wipers are on the higher end of the cost spectrum
-They come with an adapter to fit our TL's perfectly
-A few (dead spots) while in light usage (drizzle, sprinkles)
-Work great in down pours
-Come with silicone wipes (similar to Rain-X)
-No Squeaking
-No black marks

Honestly, the OEM wipers were fine. When used w/Rain-X they were great. I'm guessing these PIAA's will show their worth in the long run as the person that sold them to me said they last a very long time.

So. If you have to have these blades, they are a solid buy. But if you want to stay with the OEM's, just throw some Rain-X on the windshield and save yourself a few bucks.

I had them in my old TL. I think I got them at pepboys for 45 bucks shipped. Anyway, they were great wipers. But after a year of use, they were pretty much worn out meaning leaving streaks everytime you wipe. But then again, they went through a tough winter as well. Just want to share my thoughts.

Inserts

As was suggested in one of thread here- I was able to buy 2 inserts for $15 with free delivery.
They are very easy to "insert" and will save you few bucks.

Yup, have had these on all my cars for the past 5 years, and I found out later that the inserts are compatible with our stock arm. On my 2nd gen TL they worked better I thought, less chatter, with my current TL they chatter a bit. The only downside with Rain X is that once you put it on, you have to keep up with it or else when it starts to wear off, it becomes a mess on the windshield. With the PIAA you never have to worry about it, its great!

I've had mine for about 8 months and they have already worn out. Gonna try the Rain-X latitude blades next. The PIAA blades were great when they worked!

i know this is an old thread, but anyone know if the directions that come with these INSERTS (not blades) work on our STOCK TL arms?

Palik they work on our stock arms just slide out and slide in....that's it. There is another recent thread called "wiper blades" its about 3 pages long, gives you more info there. I posted in there as well so check that out.

I have replaced 2 set since Oct 2007, both of them work great at the first 5 months, then left streaks and ..... on my windshield. Not worth the money, I think the OEM is better choice.

Thats strange. The OEM wipers are garbage on my car. I'm using just the PIAA inserts on the stock arms and they still wipe better than the oems

I recieved my PIAA Super Silicone wipers about 5 days ago. I hadnt had a chance to try them till today when we got some rain. They are a huge improvement over the OEM wipers! I love them so far. The true test though will be to see how they keep holding up for me!

I received my PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades about 1 week ago. So far they're great, no complaints. One of the wipes does leave a little streak behind, but I think its due to the wiper being slightly bent during shipping. The silicone works just like rain-x. Overall, i'd say they're a very good wiper replacement (especially since the refills are a direct fitment into your OEM blades). We'll see how long they last.
