PIAA 6600K HID Installed on 08 TL-S
I just installed PIAA 6600k HID bulb on my 08 TL-S. On the last picture with yellow arrow there a no lighting gap, is that normal? I didn't get a chance to see if the 4600k bulb had the same gap as last picture. Thanks

Did you get the bulbs in straight and the same position as the old ones. That seems like it should have some light there- or I need to adjust my headlights up some more!
Make sure to use the lights all the time for a few months, it takes about 100 hours of use to burn in and stabilize the color and they get more output of light when ready!

yeah, more purple. it's about the same light output as the 4600k. but, then the 4600k seems brighter because of more white light output. i paid $200 on ebay.

Yes, everything is seated properly and alined with the holes. also, the ceramic insulation on the hid bulb is face downward. Thanks for the advice . I will be driving with my main headlights on all the time.

infact, my HID fogs do more than cover that gap.
I got the HID fogs couple days ago and it basically goes
foglight light....BRIGHTTTTTTT GAP IN THE MIDDLE WHERE THE LIGHT OF THE FOGS AND THE HEADLIGHTS MEET....then headlight lights.
In fact, I find the fogs quite blinding. I'm afraid that I'd get bitch at by someone or get pulled over by a cop.

If you are sitting in the car, in the driving position, can you tell there is an unlighted gap?
IOW - if you can't see over the nose anyhow, why do you need it lighted?

The gap is normal...
That's called "foreground". When you're sitting in the car, the foregound is almost completely covered by the hood.
Some folks have gone as far as opening the headlights, taking apart the projectors, and cutting the foreground shield up to illuminate that area... that's knows as the "forground mod"... you can search that on HIDplanet. Most folks don't like it afterwards as it supposedly reduces output intensity.
As for the bulbs...
Great. They're blue. They actually look more like 8000K. You've sacrificed nearly 20% of the usable light output for blue color... which will likely draw the wrong kind of attention. Good luck with that.
But I'm the high Kelvin poopoo'er of Acurazine. 4500-5000K is the magic place. Most usable light on the road with the most brightness...

is it true that if you wanted to replace the stock oem 4300k to 6000k, you just replace the bulbs since you already have the HID system? Some guy told me this, and said it only cost $85 for the bulbs.
