Photos of ClearBra

Here is a pic I took today of the ClearBra. Seems I had to wait until the car was dirty to see it with the camera.

How much was it, and is it something dealers do?

Thanks

I don't want to be a pain in the A$$ but could we see some of the "custom cuts around the grill"?

Just curious to see how they blended the cuts and over lapped the plastic sheeting.

It was about $600. But keep in mind that I received a 20% discount due to being a repeat customer.

Many dealers will be happy to take your order but they'll contract out for it just like they do the tinting etc....

If you have the dealer order it for you, expect to pay about $750.

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question. They removed the grill prior to installation. They folded the material over the edge and then reinstalled the grill. Hope that answered your question.

Thanks Hacksaw. The other ClearBra I saw was cut about an 1/8th inch shorter and looked like $h!t. For 6 hundred of my best friends it better look good and cover the entire front end.

Best picture and representation I've seen of the Green thus far. See, I'm a poet and still don't know it.

Looks great for all of you West Coast guys.

I have searched pretty hard, and cannot find a "Clear Bra" dealer anywhere else.

I am in central NC and would love to get one installed, but the only ones I have found anywhere near here are xpel and StonGard.

Does anyone know a Clear Bra installer in the Carolinas?

Thanks in advance.

You mean underneath the license plate frame?

They took the license plate frame off, applied the mask and then reinstalled the plate frame. Like the rest of the application, they squigee the excess out from underneath the film. Sort of like when they apply it to the mirrors expect in reverse. Any bubbles that form are removed with a syringe.

Well I understand that...but did he cut a rectangle around the "acura" thats indented into the bumper? Or did he try to push the film within the letters?

They DID NOT cut a rectangle around the Acura indent. They got the film to lay down within the letters. They did cut out the holes for the license plate frames though.

What's the longest time you've had a clear bra on a vehicle and how did it hold up? Any on a car for over 4 years?

I've never used the product, but I've known about it for a year or so. I would assume it would get dings and nicks, scratches and poc marks over time? Still much better than your paint getting them.

How easy is it to remove?

I guess it would be another $600 to re-install.

Thanks

I've had one on my truck since May 2002. It was a different material than they are using now. A little thinner but still quite durable. Only came with a 2 year warranty vs the 6 year warranty I have on the TL. The one on the truck also requires periodic application of a UV protectant so it won't yellow over
time.

It's easy to remove although you should have the installer remove it for you.

Any major chips, dings or flaws since May 2002?

Do you still like how it looks?

I wonder how it holds up in extreme heat and sun, such as where I live. My car sits out in the sun 8 hours a day in the parking lot at work in 92-99 degree heat in the summer (rarely over 100).

Still better than my wife ripping off the last nose mask I had by 'catching' it on 'something' when she curbed the vehicle. No damage to the front fender, luckily.

Got a get a 6MT she can't drive!
