Passenger Cooling Fan Loose?

I've tried searching, but didn't find what I was looking for. So today I was randomly taking a look under the hood and noticed that my passenger fan was rather loose or wobbles with a touch. The driver's side appears to be a different type so I can't based it off of that. Can someone confirm if this is normal? Driver's side fan is normal and doesn't have any play. Thanks in advance!

Mine has had a good bit of play since the car was brand new. It's loose enough that I would be asking the same thing if I did not own it from the beginning.

Looking at it closer today, turns out that the fan doesn't come on at all even with the A/C on. Will check it out later this weekend. Anyone else had a failing passenger side fan before?

I took the passenger fan assembly out today and saw that the fan nut has worked its way out causing the wobble. For those that has play in their fan blade, I suggest you check that nut. There shouldn't be any other movement besides rotating.

So did the play allow the fan blades to seize up against the shroud? Does it work after tightening the nut?

I'm guessing the fan blade did indeed got caught somewhere along the shroud because the hole on the fan blade that attaches to the motor shaft got bigger and no longer mates with the shaft. I tested the motor and it is no good. I have to manually give it a turn in order for it to move a little.
Anyways, I bought a replacement at the junkyard today and just got done putting it in. It is literally a 10 minute job. What I found out from this incident is that the condenser fan somehow is in circuit with the cooling fan. With the bad motor installed, both fans will not come on when A/C is engaged. With the working condenser fan in, both fans will come on when A/C is engaged. Also, with the bad condenser fan in, the cooling fan will still work as expected when engine warms up with A/C off. With the good fan in, both fans will come on when engine has reached operating temperature with A/C off. Just thought I'd document this here for future members needing this info. Everything works the way it should now.
