I usually get the plastic bags because that is what the supermarkets give out. However, if I am short on paper trash bags I will ask for a paper bag for my groceries and they usually won't refuse. Sometimes the cashier will make a face if they don't have one handy.
I think paper bags are old fashioned but useful. Does anyone agree?

Well, I manufacture plastic bags, so I support my industry. From an enviornmental point of view, at worst, plastic is as bad as paper, if not better for the environment. Not that I care...

I think discussing paper or plastic would even bore my wife to tears. Discussing it on a car forum with 90% guys, whats next, 1 or 2 ply toilet paper? Can people really be that interested?

Why are people so afraid to choose paper or plastic? It seems like a very touchy issue . . as if you will be flamed if you choose the wrong one.
I would much rather take my groceries home in paper, which is biodegradable.
Of course, plastic bags can be useful too. ..
