Painting Intake Manifold

Looking into painting my intake manifold this upcoming week and wondering if any other members have input on this.

My main concern is paint type/surface preparation, I need to find a paint that will be fine with the heat that it will be exposed to in the engine bay, and also a corresponding clear coat.

For surface preparation, should I just clean the part with soapy water followed by rubbing alcohol? Or should I do a solid sand paper job on the entire upper cast surface for a smoother look?

The final concern, and also the one that could prevent me from even trying this, is will it be too cold for the paint to properly dry? I can heat the garage I plan on doing this in to 50* or so, but not sure that is enough, any minimum temperature advice?

And yes, I plan on removing the manifold and doing appropriate masking, just looking for tips from anyone else that has done this.

Thanks in advance.

When I did the IM spacer mod I painted the spacer and the entire intake manifold.I hand sanded the manifold, then used high temp paint from autozone. You should paint at 65 degrees and higher in general. Every can should have the temperatures it can be used in and the drying times. Caliper paint should work for this job too.

This has pics of the manifold removed during painting. It shows what I taped off.
