If you did that, wouldn't you block the light output, thereby rendering the side marker completely innefective? Many people have tinted them; I'm not super-big on tinted lenses of any kind so I haven't done that.

One thing I've contemplated doing, like way in the future, and it's only a concept at this point, is removing both sets of side markers and having no lights there at all. Not sure how it would look exactly, and it's definitely a permanent mod, so I'd have a lot to digest before going through with it. My guess is that I'd probably never get the balls to do a mod like that, but I have been thinking about it.

That last post of mine really got me thinking, so I threw this together really quick:

No side markers.

that looks interesting.. i don't think it looks that bad

i asked if anyone painted it because i kinda felt the rear one was a lil redundant.. most cars have only the side marker in front no? so i didnt think it'd be that big of a deal to block out the light in the rear

thanks for the photoshop

No problem. I think if you do anything, you'll want to just remove the lights altogether and then fill in the hole. That would look much cleaner than painting over the lights, at least in my opinion.

i don't know brettallica, just fix your damn side markers lol. I know your having trouble with the shorting out markers like I might soon(knock on wood) or leave them in but disconnect them so they don't light up.

A guy over in the VW forums actually painted his tails and they came out good and functional. So the side markers should work.

aznbenz07, that actually has nothing to do with my side marker issues. I had been thinking about that mod for a long time because I'm not a huge fan of extra lights on a car. The TL's look pretty good, though, so I enhanced them with the LED mod.
