Is paint tuff enough
For a rim? I went to a pwder coating place to get my rims done but they said they couldn’t do it because of the lip of the rim. It has to stay chrome. He said try to see if someone could paint it.
So does anyone know if paint can with stand the abuse it well get when on a rim?
Mods: can you please not move this thread to the tires & wheels section. Maybe give it a day in here so it can be seen by more people? Thanks

aluminum or steel? you can epoxy paint, but you would need to use some etching primer 1st.

I don’t think I said that right. I want to keep the lip polished the way it is now. The center spokes right now are the same color as the stock TL wheel (gray). I want the spokes to be gloss black. The said they wouldn’t be able to mask it off good enough and the black line that hits the polished lip would be perfect and would be all jagged.
They also said the clear coat on the polished lip might burn off. So painting the rim was the only other opition.
