Out of State Inspection?? (Florida)
Hey guys,
I just purchased my car from Florida (I live in Texas), and I was wondering what the deal with inspection was. I'm pretty sure Texas would honor the Florida Inspection, but there are no stickers of any kind to show it was inspected. I know some states put it on the license plate, but I currently have temp tags.
Would I have to just get my car reinspected or should I talk to the dealer I bought it from, any suggestions?

From my experience, when I purchased a car out state, I always had go thru an inspection prior to registration. My TL-S 08, I just received the inspection sticker for like 10 bux from the dealer....
Do they even have inspections in Florida?

No more inspections in FLA.

You are going to have to see what your state requires. In MA you have to get the registration BEFORE the inspection and have I believe 14 days to get it done after registration.

hmm, lol no wonder half of Brooklyn is driving around with Florida plates...
Cheap insurance and no inspection. It's time to purchase property in FL, lol

I got 25% tint all the way around. I think there is a deviation if you stay under your ok.
So I guess i'll just have to bite the bullet and get it inspected, I was just trying to weasel out of paying another 50 bucks.

Thanks. In 10 years we will see what your driving looks like. They may be here, but Collier county has some of the strictest pollicies regarding illegals in the country. They mow are lawns clean our houses and do our dishes though. Cops do pull you over for seatbelts. I think that is a stupid law. What is safer, driving a Vespa scooter without a helmet, or driving in a TL with 9 airbags ABS, Traction Controll, 3,600 lbs of steel and all the other safty features in a TL. The debry in the rode from construction veicles does suck thouth. To get back on topic, since The State of Florida, since they do not have safty inspections, allow you to make your own decisions regarding your cars safty. Why cant they allow us to make up our own minds to determine if our safty requires us to use seatbealts in our cars? It is nothing but a law designed to collect revenue period.

If you are transfering the reg, you get 7 days to take care of that, then 7 more to get it inspected.

Ok guys.
So my dealer has sent me checks to pay for the Title and Registration fee, I believe. I think in Texas they require you to get your car inspected before registration can be assed (if I'm wrong please correct me).
My dealer is supposed to cover the tax, and my temp tags expire in about two weeks, Im wondering what exactly I should do at this point?
I suppose I would need to get my car inspected, but im not sure if the car needs to be registered before hand.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

CALL the local inspection station or drop by and ask. You are not the first person to need this.
Most out of state sales- the local DMV collects the sales tax for your state and sends it to them
All you need to do then is safety inspection- proof of insurance- get registered
It has to be legal to register- so that would mean inspection- smog test whatever is done before you go to DMV
CAll you local DMV and ask or look it up on their website
Ziners in other states are merely guessing
