Opinion: What color to paint front grille???
I have an 08 NBP TL-S w/tinted windows and tinted head/tail lights. Just wondering everyones opinion : Paint the front grille NBP or Matte Black? Or maybe something new that I haven't even thought of. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys.

Hey guys, here is a thought; maybe you should paint the outer part of the grill red, just the "v" not the top that hangs on the hood, that should be black and the inner part black, it'll have like a VW GTi effect, I think you should try getting a photoshop, it might actually look cool.
Might be a good effect if you're going with the same effect on your wheels too.

I want to do this sometime, but I'm not a fan of the gloss NBP. I'm thinking anthracite instead in a matte or semi-matte finish. I want it to look differnet enough from the NBP body to not look lot a flopped match job, but not nearly as bright as the OEM grille. I'm not a fan of the pure NBP paintjobs.

I have my grill, and front/rear aspec lips painted NBP completely. I have an '06 NBP. I LOVE the look. I was hesitant to do it but am so glad I did. One of the members (JJaber?) was selling his NBP grill in the BM but am not sure what year his car was. He had the shop put a lot of extra clear coat on and as a result he hasn't had any paint chips on his.
If you want pics I can give you link to my thread (don't have a photoalbum up yet). Also look at my avatar.
I assume you are referring to the license plate trim
1. Remove the trunk lid trim
2. Remove the Reverse light sockets from the assembly
3. Use 8mm deep socket to remove 4 nuts holding license plate assembly to trunk.
4. Pull off the license plate assemble and on the back at the top are 3 screws that have to be removed. After that the strip comes off nice and easy.
Just a warning, you can't buy that trim separately, you have to buy the whole license plate assembly which is over $200. There was a guy on ebay that had some '07 trim for sale but that was a very limited supply and it's gone. I happen to have one of those.

Look for my pics I have my grill and trunk trim painted satin black.
As for removing the trunk trim, here's an easy explanation:
1. Remove your entire license plate, license plate lights, and reverse lights.
2. There's two nuts holding two bolts in place on the inside side of the whole license plate assembly.
3. Once you remove the nuts, gently push and pry on the entire assembly. It will come right out. Just be careful if you have the rear view camera because A. the cable can get in the way and B. THE REAR TRUNK TRIM IS DIFFERENT FOR TL'S WITH THE REAR VIEW CAMERA AND THOSE WITHOUT. If you get a non-nav trunk trim for your nav car you're going to need to sand down the middle to make room for the camera.
