I own an '04 Acura TL with Desert Mist Metallic color and beige interior. I am very happy with the car with the exception of the color. I really didnt' have much of a choice when my wife and I purchased it since that's the only one available with the beige interior.

I am now thinking of trading it in for either white or black.

My question is... "Does the DMM color that bad?"

No, I like it and would have taken it if available (especially as how the dealer let slip that you can reallywork them down on price on the DMM because no one else wants them) I think it would especially be good at hiding daily dirt that will immediately show on my AM or the NBP. Be happy with it.

 

in my opinion, if you didnt like the color, why did you get it? i waited several months for the color i wanted. dealer tried to sell me some other color but i declined. if you trade in, you will be losing money since the car is pretty new. talk to your wife and do the math, if you guys are willing to take the hit in the pockets, then trade it in. desert mist aint that bad but it was not on my list of colors i wanted.

 

Yeah, big mistake getting a color you dont like. Makes no sense to me...anyways, i dont think DMM is such a bad color, it is decent.

I have noticed on forums that people tend to polarize to a few colors but that doesn't mean that DMM is a bad color. I think all Acura's colors are tasteful and elegant.
I notice that at the dealership here in Tallahassee, the DMM cars sell quickly and I see many in town.
Black is really difficult to maintain but is beautiful and white is easier to keep clean but one of my buddies said it looked like a bread truck. DMM is a great color and will be easy to maintain and you will take a huge hit to trade for another color.
I see no reason to trade especially since you already have a beautiful car.
Drive your car and enjoy the experience. You have a great color.

Do a search on Desert Mist Metallic and there are some photos of other member's DMM cars. They look great..
