Opinion on hood replacment

so the car has gotten hit twice in the past six months. im trying to decide on getting it repaired or just buy a hood and have it painted. the one that happened today is pretty deep a pipe hit the hood and bounced over the rest of the car.

Hi. Automotive painter here. Ummm new hood???? I don't know what you guys are seeing in this hood that's not repairable because that is definitely repairable damage. Here's what you gotta consider OP. The hood is not aluminium, its steel so that makes it much easier to repair. If you repair it it needs to be a really good workmanship so it doesn't rust in the future. Don't cheap out. Actually that goes even if you change the hood. Since its been repaired already that's another reason to change it. I'm gonna recommend you to paint your front bumper and the fenders to fix all the stonechips and make the whole front end look nice. If you plan on having this car less then a year definitely fix the hood. Change the hood if you wanna keep the car longer. An aftermarket hood will rust in a couple years if not properly sealed underneath. An OEM hood will last longest. Lastly rust proofing is mandatory.
